It would shift like a bitch, slurring into gear for ages until the fluid warmed up.

The radiator isn't just an overtemp cooler, it is actually a fluid warmer first and foremost.

I don't run the fluid through the radiator, and haven't for a couple of years. No issues to report, no slurring when cold, any more than when it was stock. The fluid isn't dark or burnt either.

I am investigating getting the fittings to get it back through the rad, but only for safety. I don't like the idea of it if the car is stuck in a extended (like a hour) traffic jam. Likelihood is low, and since the car is making airflow anyway, cooking it is improbable. I just want he extra safety.

i run mine with a inline thermostat similar to this:

except mine was 30$

while at working temp/warming up temp the fluid goes through the stock radiator tranny cooler then when open goes through the after market cooler i installed.
