hey all

Im trying to pull my gear box off my engine, its all outa the car and everything, i just duno how to get it off, i know its ment to come of strait as that pole thing sits perfect strait and cant come out on an angle, but need to know if im missing anything else

There are a couple of locating dowels that help align the gearbox onto the back of the engine. They can sometimes "stick" and prevent the gearbox coming away from the engine.

Make sure you have ALL the bolts out, starter motor off. You might need to get into the join with a screwdriver or similar flat implement to gently lever the gearbox away from the engine.

If you have a 34 gtt and it has a pull clutch you have to release the the fork otherwise it will never come appart .

It will come a little ( 10 mm or so ) and no more , if its a pull clutch .

To release the fork , take the rubber boots ( it should have 2 ) off the belhousing , then using a long nose players or whatever else you have ( even a screwdriver may do ) pull the clip off the fork shaft then push the shaft off and then the box will come off .
