Showe me more, i want pics of me crossed up:)

Ive got to say the car is a real handful when its down 60-70rwkws, when it starts to oversteer you plant your foot and the thing just snaps back as there is no power to hang it out there progressively:(

Good day though..for the first tiem i have a few weeks to improve the car before PI instead of chasing my tail fixing problems.:(

Hey guys,

Was great to get back out on the track. And great to give the new mods a test out. The car sure felt nice. But the highlight was seeing Roy complete a session without incedent!

Which was impressive considering just how difficult a day that was. That track isn't friendly in my opionion - especially to learn on. Very bumpy in places, very slippery in spots and near impossible to drive on in the wet. But the fast chicane and the hill are very cool.

And boy did it get tough once it got dark. Cause it seemed to be ok visaully but the grip was just gone.

Having said that, the spectical of watching the flames and the red hot glowing brakes at night was fantastic. I hope we can get some photo's from the night session. Scott especially will have to let us know when his dad get's his photo's ready. In the wet session at the start he was near the final S just before the last turn and I know I was completely sideways there at one stage! LOL

Gareth - the results for the day will be posted on the main page of the wrx club website in a few days. I will post a link once they are up.

What is sad though is that big thing hanging off the side of my motor, only to be doing around 175km/h down the straight:) At the end od the night i did get up to 189km/h...but it is a sad day for the R32s when Chrisman is quicker in the straights, and laps quicker then me...i think i may just give up..

lol a marshall blue flagged me when an MX5 was behind me...scary thing is i didnt even have to back off to let him by, he overtook me on merit:(

Still good fun to drive the car home and be taking baby steps to getting it running properly again.

For what its worth...

GT Production Car Lap Record

John Bowe (Ferrari F355 Challenge) - 1:00.8047 (22/06/1997)

V8 Supercar.

Craig Lowndes (HOLDEN COMMODORE VR) - 0:56.1410 (28/04/1996)

And a Production Class RX7 ran 1:09 back in 97...its hard to get times for Calder because of the stoush with CAMS the past few years

Well guys, what an awesome time that was!!! For my first CAMS day, it was nuts! the Super Sprints was defenantly a highlight, along with holding off that Porsche down the main stragiht!! Not forgeting loosing all brakes at the end of the back straight too.

Things on the upgrade list include going over to an LSD and some bigger brakes.

I have Looked at Daves photo's and there are some nice shots. There are a few sohts of people crossed up a tad through the S' during the wet practice laps. Gareth and Ant's spins were also caught! A few small wheel lifts and Troy crossed up in a big way. The night time shots are pretty good, with Andrew's rotors red in colour (but the photo is out of focus)

i got no pics/vids of anyone crossed up as we were having too much fun watching it in real time :D

BTW, why were you down 60kw? or are you pulling my leg like with that RB25?

My AVCR was playing up after the Winton drama, so i was only able toi run std boost, so was running 8psi, though by nights end it was up to 11-12psi but still running like a dog in hp stakes. I figure 222rwkws with 16psi, so take 4-8psi away and retard the ignition and it was never going to scare too many ppl in a straight line..thought the sound may:)

Times are up...

My 2nd session when i went out last so i could get a run thru corners seemed to have meant consistant laps :D

Lap #1 - 1:15.2340

Lap #2 - 1:15.2940

Lap #3 - 1:15.3770

Shame they didnt get laps for the third Sprint Session, and when they waved me out for my Supersprint they waved on 11 cars, me being the 11th so i was told to pull off the track:(

...and :kick: those that were reving me up about my lap times, they arent actually that bad considering:)

It was a great day... I had a blast... getting a bit wild a few times on those back S.. they're quite tricky hehe...

At the end of the night couldn't get any better than 1:16... (47th place - at least I'm still ahead of one gtr). Also, I think my front suspension was set a bit too low and when turning the tyres hit the LHF guard, denting it a bit, and shaving off the outside part of the LHF tyre. Not sure if the tyre would be track worthy for another track days... the guard shaved quite a bit of mm out of the outer part. I felt my LHF tyre loosing traction already during super sprint session during right handers.

Guys, u reckon i should raise the front ride height? Currently not even two fingers can fit between the tyre and the guards. Or should I roll the guards? Either way I gotta fix the guard anyway... I think no paints required just some dent remover specialist will do (or guard roller)

    • Dry sump? Is that like where you don't put oil in, and leave the car parked in the garage because it's worth so much now and is like a beautiful museum piece? 😛
    • Nissan Fuga Y50 2009 VQ35HR 313 hp / 230 kW RWD Also sold as Infiniti M overseas. Performance sedan built on the same chassis as Skyline V36 or Infiniti FX. Great colour with a fantastic velour interior. Very quiet and fast car (<6s 0-100), but can also be very economical for performance (long-term average consumption 11/100 km) I imported it five years ago, and it was well looked after. It has a full service history and a balance of ACT rego. There are no finance or PPSR issues with the car. Has all the features you'd expect from a luxury car. ABS brakes Stability control Traction control Dual-zone climate control Power and memory front seats and steering column Power passenger ottoman Smart key access Push button start 2 parking cameras Steering wheel audio controls Adaptive radar cruise control AFS aiming headlights Xenon HID headlights Security system Original Nissan remote start system Two original keys Dual-channel dashcam Blackvue 750 with PowerMagicPro for battery-aware parking recording Regularly serviced with a lot of major items done: Full new original Nissan suspension shocks throughout Performance CSF radiator Recent tyres, less than 10k on them New drive belt New bonnet struts Brakes recently done The car comes with a fully converted AV system with Australian GPS maps, DVD, and radio ($2k job). I really love this car, but I have too many cars and too many Nissans in the family, so unfortunately, I need to sell it. Priced at $18500 The car can be seen in Curtin. Thank you for your attention.
    • Here are a few photos.  The car is auction grade 4.5B and a genuine 1 owner car, as far as I can tell...  It has a full service history with only 31,000km in it.  I'd love to put a midpipe and tune on it but I am thinking that I'll retain its originality.
    • I can be grumpy!  After owning one of the first GTRs in the country, I was bitten by the nostalgia bug and started the hunt for a GTR again.  While I could have bought a car locally, I wanted to experience the search for a car in Japan and bidding at auction.  The above videos document my experience to date and hope forum members find them interesting and informative.  I was after a low mileage, completely stock car in the launch colour and am pretty stoked with what I got!
    • Did you calibrate the throttle in the Haltech? It might be falling in and out of the closed loop strategy, especially if the car has been tuned on different TPS voltages.
