as for in japan ....dunno

but the build plate would have it on there im guessing if not just look under the dash for a sticker or something that may have been left on something at build time....under the dash is the least messed with area in a car (most of the time)so thats your best bet for finding that kind of thing

The MR30 was made in Japan right?

My VIN tag says somthing about Japanese factorys, but the compliance plate says" Nissan Motor Co' Australia"

you'll find alot of the mr30 hatchs were ither shipped to nissan australia whole or as parts..

All MR30's sold in Australia with Australian compliance plates were shipped to Australia as whole and complete cars and things like tyres & seat belts were changed here to meet Aust Standards.

If the original plates and tags are still intact, you will find a small plate, usually black in colour, about 50mm long that has a build date, which will be different to the compliance date on the firewall. The build date is that as in Japan.
