its so sad hearing about people doing stupid things in their cars (especially in skylines, since our rep with the public and the cops is bad enough already)

i guess people with low self esteem, security and mental development think they can prove themselves to be top sh!t by PURPOSELY doing acts of sheer stupidity to boost their ego up. JUST GROW UP, owning a performance car (or any car for that matter) does not give any1 the right to endanger other's lives. if u want to die, go off where no1 else can be harmed, NOT on the public roads

sorry, i get emotional about this topic of reckless drivers too.........

hows this one, pulled up at newsagent to collect the paper (isnt that what high powered GTRs are used for) and these morons in a commonwhore all off the sudden see me and have a brain failure. They speed up through the main street (apparently showing me how tough there ride was) lose control and hit a torago van before carrering into a bus stop leveling it. Time of day you may ask 8.00am, just before the bus stop filled with school kids. D1CKHEADS !!!!

Idiots, they have no care for the public, and the rep they are givin us p platers.

the other night i had 2 fords packed with muzzas next to me on a bridge over the freeway, they start revvin it lookin at me...im trying not to laugh...both cars hammer it thinking the second light will turn to green....they misjudged it by 2 seconds...they both went through a red light.

AND

VL turbo turned the corner (left), me turning right waiting for oncoming traffic to pass, he was staring at my car, floored it around the corner still looking at me...didnt realise a magna was stationery tunring right in his lane, i heard him screech and then BANG, glass shattered from his car landed on my car, i put my hazards on and brushed the glass off, then checked if he was ok.

we obvously always attract unwanted attention from idiots. i try to ignore them, especially when they tail gate me

Its always the dickheads in their Holdens trying to prove something. Nothing looks lamer than a Holden speeding past you when driving the speed limit. I usually say "uh....ok..your car can break the speed limit". I found that its always the non high performance cars that tend to speed around me.

ok, i will say it.. there are hardly any muzzas in QLD (well a lot less than melbourne).. and strangely enough a lot of the problems that are found in melb with cars, are found a lot less up here. i think its just the ego.. too much of it in melbourne.

Hold on, Leewah's point is that its NOT always the "the dickheads in their Holdens trying to prove something".***

Its a simple case of numbers Vs reputation. There are more of them than there are of us.

For every idiot in their Holden being a knob, there are, most likely 20 or 30 others who aren't.

Our problem is that for every Skyline driver who drives like he's invincible, there is an extremely small fraction of that number of us who don't.

It doesn't take a Mensa nominee to work out that this equates to a situation of high probability that those of us doing the right thing will be lumped in with the good for nothing, no skills having, brain leaked out, common sense lacking, wastes of road space that are those Skyline drivers who put themselves and others at risk by driving irresponsibly.

I dread the day when I'm no longer shocked to hear about a young Skyline driver having an accident, SO BE CAREFUL.

***The above is, in no way, directed specifically towards Buddy Club R33

You've hit the nail on the head Wardest. Some of you will argue that there are more Holdens out there coz it's a family car and many Australian families drive Holdens. You can also say that about Frauds too.

Simply the fact that there are less 'Liners on the road and most are driven by people under the age of 30 (35 at a stetch) gets us this wonderful attention. I'm not saying that older people are better drivers, nor am I saying that even more experienced drivers with track training are Gods of the Road but I would like to point out that most (if not all) Skyline accidents I've seen on the news or heard of through the grapevine involved drivers under the age of 30.

Why is it that insurance companies rate males at 18-28 at the highest risk bracket? It's because they have the most accidents.

It's a cultural thing. It's a total lack of respect for road rules, regulations and authority bodies. I'm sick of hearing people whinge about canaries and EPAs coz the modded their car. DEAL WITH IT!! If you choose to do it fully knowing that you are going against law, it also means that your willing to accept the consequences. "These laws suck. They're taking advantage of us." BS!!! Noone is taking advantage of you. Laws and regulations are made and you as a citizen must abide by them. If you don't, you get prosecuted for your illegal actions. If I hear of one more person whining about how they got busted for their illegal cars mods, I think I'm gonna admit myself into a time capsule and disappear for 11ty billion years.

How many people here know how often I've been pinged by the cops? I'd dare say it's less than 10 people. It's coz I accepted the penalty for doing something wrong. Whingers are the ones who won't go anywhere in this World. Nobody owes you anything. Deal with it and move on.

Abide by the rules, drive safe, don't be intimidated by a wannabe street racer and enjoy your car for what it was designed for. If you wanna race or show off, head to a track or public dyno day. Everyone can see how good you are then.

I hate hero (unts coz we all end up suffering.

I experienced an off duty bacon man aggressively telling me to learn how to drive. He was swerving across 3 lanes of traffic (this is no exaggeration either) in a 3 tonne 4wd with his entire family. His head was fully out the window swearing with one hand holding a badge and the other navigating his family tank.

What did I do I hear you ask? The guy in the car behind me would also like to know! The only thing I can think of is I accelerated way from a round-about 300m earlier (big 3 lane one). I never went over the speed limit (barely revved past 4000), and never was my driving reckless/careless. In fact I was travelling 10 below the speed limit when he fired up.

This over excited pork roll has obviously dealt with import hoodlems in the past and is now generalizing. I spose my story is evidence that we all get a bad rep for idiodic behaviour. So calm the fu(k down on public roads.

Would have to agree with the rant from Leewah. People should accept the consequences for their actions BUT I also believe the road rules and freedom for modification are too strict in this country. I also disagree with the lack of equality in who I personally have seen pulled over versus who I have seen drive badly.

    • Harness update time have had great fun and learnt so much already so far with this project. I started off making both the ignition and injector sub harnesses in the hope any mistakes i made here aren't as hard to undo and learn from as the main harness.  A cool comparison of the old harness using presumably TXL wire and the new which is using Tezel. Also opted to use DTM plugs to keep the whole setup as neat and tidy as possible and tucked the wiring under the coil bracket to try and keep it all from sticking out too much. Although the injector harness, I'm not overly happy with as I'm still using the rubber boots that are supplied with the type of plugs it just looks ugly and sticks out like a sore thumb with the white identifiers so a slight redesign may be done.   Then it was main harness time and most importantly trying to route it nice and away from the heat it will use the OEM heater hose routing which is no longer present to keep the harness up high and secure. it's amazing how much smaller this harness is able to be compared to the old one. plugged everything into the emtron and with the help of the tuner again attempted to start it up and instantly fired up and running smoothly on all 6 which was a big shock to myself. So still some routing and adjusting to be done for the final fit up and installing a knock sensor harness plug which is in the post all has gone surprisingly well.     The old harness for shits and giggles.
    • They do that at random every now and then, with almost no detectable cause. Mine has done it a couple of times (over 25 years!!). Never worked out why.
    • I don't post on here and have been lurking for some time now. Many of the topics have helped me out more times than i can count. I was racing yesterday (11/9) and blew a front right CV shaft. I have spares so I popped a new one in. A thread i read previously said to check the engine mounts if you blow a front CV. Upon inspection, the front right mount was completely separated from the upper plate. This discovery saved me time and money, because i would have blown another CV if i went back out. Just wanted to thank you guys and wish everyone luck with with their builds. (Now if we could only come up with a solution for my power steering belt flying off after hitting the rev limiter, lol)
    • Either way he still need those style of spacer to go into the manifold because the photo he currently has is not going to work
    • You can just get the injector bosses, which allows top feeds to fit. He can use the same injectors without issue, like these (another option): https://rocketindustries.com.au/af59-2210-rb25-fuel-injector-inserts     The Racework ones look a bit better: https://www.nzefi.com/product/raceworks-lower-injector-mounting-boss-kit-for-r33-rb25det-s14-s15-sr20det/   You could also just get a similar kit like the Radium one by Plazmaman: https://plazmaman.com/product/nissan-rb25det-r33-billet-fuel-rail/?srsltid=AfmBOoogfYq49X0fu2Wdbf8yOf6zt9egyPAif_gn3Qr3G8hzAphhTgOkO70
