benm
i've run my needle 1/2 way thru the 'E'. Certainly not good for the engine but i like to know how far i can go in extreme conditions. I ran 20km with the light on to get to my fav Caltex station and then when i filled up it clicked off at 58 Litres. (65 Litre tank) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/5994-empty-feul-tank/#findComment-90580 Share on other sites
blind_elk
I believe the light comes on when there's about 12 litres of fuel left. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/5994-empty-feul-tank/#findComment-90589 Share on other sites

kik-ass
I didn't know 'lines had a fuel light. The only time I tried to find out, I ran out of fuel! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/5994-empty-feul-tank/#findComment-90690 Share on other sites
doglet
Don't go running out of fuel. I was very close in my brothers S13 before I filled up.....couple weeks later the fuel pump shit itself.....coincidence or not....I don't know. I've heard that there's usually lots of gunk in that last bit that's not good for the engine. Can someone say this is true or a myth? EnricoPalazzo
Its definately True. There is soo much shit in the bottom of ur fuel tank (all sediment from the fuel that has sunk to the bottom). So yeh, neva run ur tank to the end cos u dont want that junk in ur injectors. Shell
haha I said that once, and got shot down ...everyone thought I was talking a load of crap....nice to hear some other people saying the same thing!! and (not following my own advice here ) but i have driven with the lil orange light on for quite a while without running out, so there's definately enough to get yaself to a servo with decent petrol. As a rule, i try to fill up when i get down to a quarter of a tank Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/5994-empty-feul-tank/#findComment-91557 Share on other sites
