i've run my needle 1/2 way thru the 'E'. Certainly not good for the engine but i like to know how far i can go in extreme conditions.

I ran 20km with the light on to get to my fav Caltex station and then when i filled up it clicked off at 58 Litres. (65 Litre tank)

Don't go running out of fuel. I was very close in my brothers S13 before I filled up.....couple weeks later the fuel pump shit itself.....coincidence or not....I don't know. :(

I've heard that there's usually lots of gunk in that last bit that's not good for the engine. Can someone say this is true or a myth?

haha I said that once, and got shot down :( ...everyone thought I was talking a load of crap....nice to hear some other people saying the same thing!!

and (not following my own advice here :( ) but i have driven with the lil orange light on for quite a while without running out, so there's definately enough to get yaself to a servo with decent petrol.

As a rule, i try to fill up when i get down to a quarter of a tank :P
