Can you feel the tyres skipping on tight turns?

Owww yer. On tight corners or turn at ends of streets I kick in the clutch pedal so I can roll around without the tyres shaking & sounding nasty.

If I do have a '2 way LSD' Anybody wana tell me how these work, is it some sort of mechanical torque converter which locks up the wheels the second it feels any torque.

It'll lock up the wheels if i drop the clutch when idling in the dirt & get the wheels to burn out a tad as the wheels align up to sync with each other 'lock it up'. Pretty much it's always locked, but when clutch is disengaged its not locked.

What kind of LSD do skylines come stock with. 1 - Way LSDs? Race cars would use 1- Way LSDs hey?

So it would seem i have a 2 way LSD, but a good 2 way LSD shouldn’t lock the wheels under low Torque on tight corners right? Can you adjust all or only some 2 Way Diffs to when they will start to lock up, because mine locks up way easy & isnt practical for parking.

are you sure its not fully locked? I have a full locked diff, but still only get the shudder under power (clutch not depressed) on tight turns. Sounds like you have the same thing. 3 point turns and car parks are the worst.

Nar it couldnt be full locked because the wheels are able to spin independently when the clutch is disengaged. From my understanding that would give no power to the final pinion 'no acceleration or deceleration’ so no torque to move the cam which locks the diff through its clutches? If it was fully locked, it wouldn’t matter whether the clutch was in or out, I'd get shudder & wheels skipping on tight corners regardless.

It would be a two way. A full locker you would know about, if the car doesnt have power on tight turns it pretty much wont move, with the two way it releases and allowes the car to roll more.

BTW trust me, I can push my car, but I cant push my mates welded diff car if we want to turn it. Get 4 guys behind it however we can kinda move it.

Hahah yeh, defiantly glad i gota 2-way. All im trying to understand now is @ what amount of torque gives it enough pressure to lock it up, i'd love it if it would lock up at say 100 Nm +. Then I'd fine for parking & easy cornering. Is there anything I can do about it locking so easily? Maybe it's bloody set up for drift or is a drift LSD or something because coz its pretty much locked full time when the final pinion is delivering any torque when the clutch is engaged.

Some of the more exxy diffs are adjustable, or so I've read on here. Id like to find out too, same problem as you, just mines more so scared of getting done for a "locker". I also dont know how they are adjustable, I guess you would have to be stuffing about a bit and pulling the diff apart to a certin degree.

I will have to try that on mine. See if a few friends can push it while it is on full steering lock. I am sure mine is a fully locked diff. Thats what the guy where I bought it from said. He deals with them all the time so should know. The guys at the pits when I got a yellow sticker wanted me to replace it because they thought it was locked. Maybe it is a 2 way with a very tight clutch in it :D

The other thing that happend with mine, (stupid stiff and no travel suspension) I used to get beached going up driveways. The car would go on to two wheels, so one of the rears would be in the air, and it just spun. Obviously a locker wouldnt do that, you would go up the driveway. Maybe try and test it that way?
