DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLEN IT!!! [:D]

FERRARI F355 BEING THRASHED--

spot this from another forum

Here's a video of a Ferrari F355 being thrashed hard, ripping burnouts and fishy's up a crowded public street in some Middle Eastern country.

Not a very smart idea...but this guy had a ball!

This guy must be loaded as he doesn't have much respect for the car, but if he's got the cash, why the hell not?

That was done in Lebanon. At least he took the front bar off to save it from being ripped off :D Nice work.

I will have a video up soon of a 360 being thrashed with plenty of burnt rubber from last weekend. :)

i saw a 355 being thrased in melbourne last week heheheheh.... well i pulled up behind him and he must have seen the L plates and thought he would put on a bit of a show... the lights went green and i heard the engine wail (most awsome sound in the world) then the bloke dumps the clutch and does a massive burnout right across the intersection. He then continues to cane his car and cut an chop traffic. Incredibly stupid, driving like that an all, but it made me happy to see a ferrari revving high and being caned all the same :)

Thats probably Egypt, the taxis are peugots and the car has "al suwais" number plates, meaning its probably from saudi arabia to egypt.

Dosen't really seem like the guys car to me, wouldn't do this in a country thats not mine, seems like a joyrider. the carpet looks pretty used at the begining of the video + the wing has something to say about the owner maybe.

NEVER buy a car that has been used in the middle-east, fresh import all the way.

Thats not very cool. How hard it it to find a car park and lower your risk of doing $100,000 worth of damage?

A guy I used to work for owned a Ferrari F360.. it was not modified but he thrashed it quite hard pretty much everywhere.. went back for repair about 12 times in the space of six months.

so long as u run good fuel, not crappy 98 octane stuff u can thrash the ****er all day :)

a nice F50 would do me everyday for a thrash machine, save the skyline for weekends when u wanna take it easy :P

Kamikaze: have you ever owned an F50, or F360.. or ANY Ferrari?

What part of 'he had to take it back because it was having mechanical prbolems 12 times in 6 months' did you miss out on? I have been in this thing as you could hear the engine shutting down and only running off 4 cylinders. Its makes your cars old engine failure seem pretty miserable in comparison.

This guy in the video clip has a stolen car, stolen money or he doesnt realise how much that thing is going to cost to fix once the engine blows up :)

Have you driven a ferrari?

I'm quite sure your answer is no to all of the above, so tell me where you formed this expert opinion that you can thrash them all day, and they will be fine.. Where in your experience have you learnt that these are indestructable thrashing machines?

I dont mean to come across as harsh but my opinion comes from real world knowledge and experience, not something I pulled out of my left ass cheek. :P

Btw I was getting 50kb/s from that site.. 11.7mb in about 2-3 minutes.. dont know what your complaining about.. :headspin:

i much prefer my 165kb/s :)

my opinion comes from people who have owned them and driven them and actually worked on them

one of them used to work for prancing horse racing

but of course that is only what they tell me

Its makes your cars old engine failure seem pretty miserable in comparison.

yeah the old rb25det just wouldnt die :) got my mate to lean it out... took it out the road n took 3 runs for it to go :) the smoke looked pretty tho ;) the heads of 2 spark plugs being destroyed on cyl 3 and 4 was a pretty site too :)

but anyways back on thread....

was that 355 yellow

our fuel is good, 100ron wont make much of a differnce on a RB.

no id agree with u there, nissan engines are cheap in the scheme of things

bit like mclaren charging to service their f1... like 40,000 pounds or somethin... forget what that is converted.... 100k maybe.... i think ill do it myself

Thats cos they fly an engineer out to your place to service the car. when u buy the car it also comes with a complete rack of tools.

If major service is needed they will fly the car back to woking to carry out the work.

    • Have you put an aftermarket oil pressure gauge on and verified your oil pressure?   Noise being on the block, on exhaust side, how high up the block does it seem to be? It could be the VCT system getting cranky, especially if it's mainly at idle, and when warm, as that'll be your lowest point for oil pressure. Could be showing that oil passages / VCT solenoid are blocking.
    • Well, hydraulic lifters will get noisy if they are dirty/fouled in some way, and exactly how that manifests will depend on exactly what schmutz is where. There is a procedure on here somewhere for dismantling and soaking/cleaning them. Replacing them with new is about 50% of the work and about 5% of the money!
    • Thanks for the reply @GTSBoy this is is a hydraulic lifter engine. Yea right i did not realise the lifters were supposed to be compressible while installed. I could push them down but i had to lean almost my while body weight on them.  I have never heard of a lifter/ lifters ticking only at hot idle and getting worse the hotter it gets. I have owned a few jdm cars with noisy lifters. This noise is slightly more subtle, it is more of a sharp gentle metalic tic than the solid and more loud tapping I've heard on lifters. I have used a metal rod, alloy tube, hose and stethoscope and could not find the source of the tick. But it appears to be loudest on the actual engine block behind the exhaust cam gear and next to the oil filter. I had mate (40 year old mechanic) go over it with me and he couldn't find it either..  Could it be a cam seal issue of some sort?  Cheers
    • This seems problematic and unlikely at the same time. Vanilla RB2Xs have hydraulic lifters. They do have "zero" clearance, but only when running with oil pressure inside them. When not running, you should be able to compress them and obtain heaps of clearance. RB26s and Neos have solid lifters. They should have ~0.3mm and ~0.5mm on the inlet and exhaust respectively. If they have zero clearance then bad things are happening. With nothing else being wrong, it would mean that the valves would be held slightly (ever so slightly) open when they are supposed to be closed and it should have all sorts of problems when running, caused by leakage in/out through the valves. Or, zero clearance can indicate severe valve seat recession. None of it is good. Have you used a piece of hose as a stethoscope to try to localise the noise?
