Hey guys,

I am getting so confused with all the different turbo kits up on the market

and i was just wondering if anyone could help!

Firstly I've got a series 1 r33 gtst and I also know I need all the associated mods to support the turbo set up, which isn't my problem!

This is my goal is to have around 250-300 rwkW.

I don't really care about driveability or traction, I just want power!

These are the kits/turbo's i'm looking at:

Trust tdo 6 20gc

HKS 2835

T04 E

To4 s

Apexi rx 6

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, even other types of setup or whatever!

This is all fine and dandy,but, are you prepared to pay for the forged internals when the motor goes bang?

The HKS GT-RS in t3 exh flange for rb25det is a proven recipe for your power needs.But this turbo is an internally gated turbo.And depending on wether or not you want an internally or an externally wastegated turbo is totally up to you.

As I said before (I also know I need all the associated mods to support the turbo set up, which isn't my problem)! :D

Anywayz what I wouldn't mind knowing is, what would the advantages and disadvantages are of an external wastegate.

My thinking is a HKS 3037 setup like Steve (SA)...or a HKS 2835 setup like B-man posted about:) keeping in ind these guys had cams etc, but Steves was on a std RB25 bottom end.

Ive also read/heard about great results with a TD06-25G on a std RB25 bottom end with cams, and the kits seem to be a bit cheaper 2nd hand, and when buying 2nd hand if there happens to be something wrong with the turbo then the get out of jail price of a rebuild is much cheaper with a plain bearing turbo asa opposed to Ball bearing:)

plain bearing repair - 300-400

ball bearing - 1000

ive had both and i cant honestly find a difference when driving with one

there are plenty of turbos to choose from, it all depends on if u want response or lag

Well what I want is a car that is fun, Well I mean, I don't have a spacific purpose

for it. I wanna drift, Drag, Whatever just want to experiment with the car!

As for my budget, maybe just over 13 thousand keeping in mind that I'll be doing most of the work myself, sort of as a hobby (have company car so it doesn't

matter how long it's off the road).

If anyone has any allround setup suggestions(internals, fuel systems etc), feel free to let me know!

Or whatever you guys may be running in your cars and type of power output,
