Anyone into karts? - what to look for

Hello all, looking to get buy a kart and get into racing, any tips on what to look for - brands, age etc??

Used to race in Geelong. Had a Arrow Ax6 ultimate. If you are serious about it and want a good Kart that does what you want it too then i suggest you buy new as i have tried a few second hand ones that just dont steer right and you feel that your trying to fight the bloody thing due to possibly to many hits etc....... Cost for Kart was $4000 then if you want to race then you must rebuild entire motor and blue print approx$750. Then you require the obvious helmut, boots, suit, gloves, special made bloody trailer, basic spares. All up for a good set up approx $6000.
