Hey all,

A mate of mine and i were discussing the other day, Nitrous oxide.

He was telling me that you can run a 50 shot of nitrous and it can be beneficial to ure engine (as it cools down the pistons a bit aswell as the rest), rather than destroy it.

Im pondering possibly doing this to my own car... but would like some opinions first. Has anyone here got a nitrous setup in their car? running stock internals etc? Does anyone know roughly how much it would cost to get installed?

All info/opinions appreciated :(

Hey, coulda told you this before but I think I forgot to. Seen a stock Ti R31 running 50 shots down the drags with complete stock internals. He claims to have done 54 passes at that point with it and it didn't miss a beat. Got some nice low 14s which is good considering there normally people trying to pull a high 15 in stock form!

NOS is the "SHIT"! :)

I run an 80hp wet shot & the HIT is better than Viagra!

When set up propperly is is a safe & effective hp gain , tho getting it right can be an absolute BIATCH..... as those who were present at my first effort will testify.

As a result of this.....only a WET shot is worth doing (wet shot is where the correct ammount of fuel is injected with the nos).

I use Geogre at ADRENALINE for all Nos related stuff.... he's seen it all.

Go the Gas :burnout:

good to hear rep003,

so how much for somthing like this? do you still find it to be safe? I have always wanted to put it on but everyone always seems to say oh but this can go wrong and that can go wrong.

Plus not too mention the pic i saw recently were the whole engine blew up of the drag car when the lines caught fire! the whole bonnet flew off!!

MirKz, i was once into nos as i through it was cheap hp, if you look at the nos website they have different setup for different power lvls, i belived anything over 300hp they requirment you run forged internals.

i belived rev210, uses it in his car, and i think it was something like 100shot and he had good results also

croyden GTR did the same thing, only with his, when he reved and started a burnout, nos thought he was racing, so it put a shot in and had no where to go but up, and lets just saw, the bonnet only just stayed on.

    • Apologies, while id like to put the MAF as close to the TB and relocate the recirc, this may be too much work. Will most likely end up just putting it on the original AFM spot ( onto/next to the airbox ).  Was going through nistune, found a pretty nifty doc on this. Nistune MAF Notes. Also, i was looking through the bay, and there seems to be a tube/line connected from the A/C to the intercooler piping ( Between the smic and the recirc), what does this do as the crossover fmic piping doesnt have any connection? plumbing? not sure what you call it but the nipple thing ahah.  Also, been reading up more about crossover fmic in regards to the legality of having the hole drilled for the piping, this would most likely need to be engineered right?
    • My advice is if you need a big build done do it in Japan. The yen rate is so favorable and there are shops that can be genuinely trusted and not micromanaged/carefully monitored every step of the way. Garage Yoshida is obviously my preferred option but they're so busy these days and all interaction with new customers has to be mediated through BBL/Toprank now.
    • I haven't....but a poorly made one would terrify me. Surely a good second hand one is the go, as they don't work hard and no-one wants to keep one after they are finished with it A big consideration would be the weight of the shell you are putting on it....is it a fully dressed chassis or just the body
    • Not stock. All remade. Mostly looks stock because the pipes run to and from the standard holes in the inner guard to get to the return flow FMIC. I'm not sure which question you're trying to ask, because it seems like "stock position" vs "stock position".
    • Hey, it's a GT-R, it's just as significant a moment as mine😁 It's not ideal when things are uncertain; I'm the type of person that always has a set plan for things in life so being unsure of this plan puts me in a weird place mentally.
