This is a guide on a more unusal engine conversion. A silvia SR20DET engine in a R31 GXE Skyline peformed and documented by Fatz.

We decided to do this as Fatz wrote off our drift Silva car at the Drift Nationals in Victoria last year. We used all the trick bits, suspension and the SR20DET and wacked it on a cheap ass R31.

First you need a car. I chose this lovely 1990 silo imitation because it cost 1k  was rough as guts and suited the purpose of a drift pig!!!

My was it rough, dents, rust, running bad, starter motor was rooted (bought a new one and had it reco… im a dumb arse 170 bux all up 17% the value of the car), wrong suspension made the car jacked up

Previous owner had it wired up so it cough on fire 3 days after purchase due to a short on the thermo fan. Each panel had a different colour so it real stood out as a bucket of shit..

On the plus side it had 3 months rego, was manual and was a perfect base for a car that I will and my brother flog the living crap out of for a good long time....

Here is the 30 page install guide by Fatz... It is well worth the read. Im sure he had a few cans when writting this so its a good laugh.

It includes full illustrations and all on how to put a silvia SR20DET engine in a R31 4 Door Skyline.

Check out how much room there is in the engine bay!!!
