I am currently looking at buying a car which has had some parts removed.

The intercooler, and radiator are not connected... The car also does not have an ECU.....

I know that I need an ECU to do a compression test - but can someone please explain to me if the radiator or intercooler needs to be connected for a compression test?

A leak-down test would also be very useful, alot of the time its the best indicator of engine condition. In case your'e not sure, each cylinder is pressurised, and then the amount of leaked psi is measured over time. The rate of leakage gives some idea of what the internals are like.

I've never had to have one done, so dont hold me to it though

good luck though!
