Chapman and Chapman have been used by many mates, with high standard of work..sometimes you just need to be patient

Charlies Motors, I have known David for years and their work is also very good

Mercury, I have known Trent for a while and would recommend for good work and good service, there are plenty of places around, just follow GENUINE advice and not mates who have NFI

I couldn't agree with this statement more. Make sure you ask around and dont take any one persons opinion for gospel. Most importantly investigate the workshops personally. Just because a workshop has been able to make some "big" power on "some" cars doesnt mean jack. You need to find a workshop you can trust with your car, that will work on your car properly, not cut corners and shoot straight with you about whats wrong. There is no point taking your car somewhere that you cant have a conversation with the mechanic about whats happening and what needs to be done. IMO this is one of the most essential things, if a workshop owner/mechanic/whoever is working on my car, isnt willing to talk to me about whats happening with my car then I dont give a sh*t how good he thinks he is, he's wasting his time being in business....at the end of the day they are just selling a service like anyone else, dont be treated like a tool because they think they are top sh*t.....because there is plenty of other places you can take your car that are usually just as good, if not better, that will be more than willing to take on your business.

And yes I am speaking from experience.

A motec tuning specialist in stafford was very good, and was also good in the 'honesty/communicating what he has done to the car' department. However, i did find him expensive and there was an issue when i went to collect the car of the verbally quoted price being 4 times less than the figue on the invoice. And i dont know about you, but that really #$%@s me off. However, that is something i feel i could speak to him about next time i brought the car there, and so i would recommend him to others. I agree with the people who have advised shopping around, even though its a pain. Anybody know of other shops who have experience on MoTeC systems?

Yes I know the place at STAFFORD and they do a poor TUNE...hope that is alreight to say.

Yes they are expensive, and I do not trust them after a person on here had a Motec fitted and would cut out BEFORE redline. And they tuned it on a 2 wheel dyno without the front safts removed damaging the transfer case...and they cost a fortune to boot.

There are a couple of places on the coast that do Motec, i will have a look and get back!!

They only give you a discount if you are a member of the SAu QLD club not the forums.

If you want to join SAu before you go to mercury, we can process your application and inform Mercury Motorsport that you are a member without you having received your card. Mercury Motorsport does ring us to confirm membership if someone states they are a member without producing a membership card.

If you join SAu before 21st May, it will only cost you $45 not $55. This offer does finish on the 21st May and will not be extended or offered again in the near future.
