Hey people

Here I was reading the Roleystone Courier (a little gossip rag for us hill billies) and I see the following article..

Dob In a Hoon Proposal

The City of Armadale has announced that it is interested in pursuing the Dob in a Hoon program as another weapon against the irresponsible driving antics some drivers get up to on their suburban streets.

This provides another opportunity for the community to provide information to the police about anti-social behaviour related to "hoons driving cars" and is linked to the recent State Government "Hoon Legislation".

Whilst the community already has the opportunity to report concerns direct the the police (by calling the Dob in a Hoon Hotline 9398 0020) this program uses the Local Authority as the "go between" in that they receive the initial information, collate the responses in a database and forward the results to the police weekly, to both follow up on individual incidents but also to look at "trends and hot spots".

The City of Gosnells has linked this to their City Watch and Community Safety programs and the City of Armadale is considering doing likewise through their Community Safety Advisory Committee and Community Safety plan.

The City of Armadale is looking at a number of options which will become an agenda item to the Community Services Committee and Council in January and it will also be referred to the Community Safety Advisory Committee (CSAC) for possible inclusion in the Community Safety Plan (which is currently under review)

Well I think its about time I started attending my local council meetings...

and "Hot spots"..... there goes the precious truck stop :D

sif theres anything decent that goes on in armadale or any so called 'hot spots' anyways :D (I know i havent seen any when im up there, nor any spots that have 'potential')

Although i HAVE seen some tard P plater in a Rex doing bog laps down the main strip (ie, down kfc - hjs- subway street) ahaha

yeah armadale doesnt really do much for me, (no offense to anyone living there) but import cars wise and street/night life there is dull in my opinion but i dont live there, i just visit.... fairly regularly ahah

rockingham no different really, cept for RICE, but yeah not much goes on :D were all boring

Thats it Dad, I am finding a nice retirement home for you!

Dad was a "Trev" into V8 Fords and he was that way until after I was born!

Also, how can they bust you if they have no evidence with this dob in a hoon crap? I could get 5 of my friends together who all hate someone and say we saw them drag racing or something and there is 5 of us. Proove it I say!

Yeah we have same in the Stirling Council too - just before election they did a big fluro pink flyer drop off with a form you could fill in with hooning ..... it was pinned to our fridge for a while - in the hope we'd dob in some politicians cars haha

I hated Armadale as a Kid to the point i avoid it at all costs.

I remember it as a small town with lots of farms (early 70s)Hows that for old but  i can remember perth stopping at scarborough with nothing but bush past there.

Shit it its time for a nursing home.

you should listen to my dad telling stories of how he was chosen to run for Malaysia in the Olympics at the age of 18....

all good until u realize he's talking abt Rome 1960!! :headspin:

Holy crap... this is the bit where I admit I grew up in armadale... and say "I concur"

I remember the days of orchard fields, no armadale road dual carriage-ways, and Armadale city opening it's world class new extension (it was still a hole!) to double it's size :|

some fag is prolly gonna try  dob me and another guy in a tx5 in, he honked at us both overtaking him no more than 5kms over the limit, thats if we even WENT over the limit.

he then proceeded to write down the number plates, bloody idiot

Thats what you get for having an easy to remember plate :)

    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
    • Stop looking at the garage floor, and turn the radio up a bit louder if there's any strange noises...
    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
    • Thanks for the quick reply. To be clear, when you say turbo shuffle do you mean turbo flutter "stustustu" or referring to something else? I had thought they were the same thing. When I wrote the post my intention was to say it wasn't a flutter/compression surge sound. My understanding was that a flutter sound would be occurring when throttle is released, whereas I can keep the throttle in the same position for this noise
