mmm i got my friend  Sard 550cc injectors for an Rb25 for $600 (New in Box & incl. shipping from Japan)

So yeah, you did well !

Yeh?? Thats bloody cheap, where from. I think from memory somebody on SAU said those injectors 'sard 550s' can be a bit of a bitch to fit onto the RB25.

I have a good friend of mine that lives in Japan, he will send me anything i want. So basically there is no mark up on the cost of whatever i buy.

He constantly says that because he is from abroad (he is australian) he is treated really well and gets fantastic deals from workshops etc.

I dont see how they can be a 'bitch' to fit? My friend had his injectors installed by Amberleys and there was never any fuss... How can they be a bitch to fit? They were Side Feed injectors *shrugs*.

Man i dont know, i read some thread about someone recommending the nismo ones over the Sard ones because they were an easier fit... or was that the sard ones were an easier fit... :) Hahah I'll take ya word for it.

  • 2 weeks later...

ok, the injectors arrived, and luckily i did not get stiffed for GST .. rar !!

anyway, well packaged, each inj has been marked with a number, and that number references the service report that was included, out of the 6 inj they flow :

report also shows in lbs/hr and has a nice little flow correction for psi chart.

553cc, 564cc, 564cc, 564cc, 569cc, 571cc

this is a 96.8% balance

hmm, i wonder which inj will be in #6 :)

they also tell me the impedance load of each injector

Injectors also came with a nice little 'how to fit' instruction sheet ...

they are physically in good condition, with all new o-rings, and are physically clean looking

I would deffo recommend this company to others http://www.deatschwerks.com/products.html

they respond to emails quickly, and the whole thing has been hassle free !

now to fit them, and get the pfc tuned ...

will post up results as and when i have them

Yeh?? Thats bloody cheap, where from.  I think from memory somebody on SAU said those injectors 'sard 550s' can be a bit of a bitch to fit onto the RB25.

they are a straight swap and easy to fit so i have heard.they need collars to make them fit properly, other than that it doent take much more effort than say fitting a set of nismo 555cc injectors.

currently running .9 bar, with these in, and the pfc, well .. who knows, depends on what the dyno guy can get out of the engine ... but i'm not really limited on boost at the moment with eh gcg highflow ... reading up, 1.2bar seems to be the max for std internals, so i guess maybe 1.1bar ... all depends on the dyno and the pfc

will post results when i have them !

How's this going?

Just an info I received from them about these injectors

the RB25 injectors are the same fitment as SR20

injectors. the injectors will fit both without any

modification (direct swaps). They are high-flowed

JECS (OEM nissan) which have been completely rebuilt,

tested, and matched.

i have NO idea on the flow pattern etc - i can only tell you that my mechanic fitted them yesterday, and they slotted into the RB25 head with ZERO problems. They were a direct replacement !

pfc was installed and tuned at the same time, but is not fully finished yet, currently making 212rwkw on a dyno that reads TRUE kw, not a rosy looking kw figure, aparently ...

anyway, should be getting the car back either tonight or tomorrow and will have more info then.

the tuner seemed quite happy that the injectors were doing the job they needed to do perfectly well ...

cheers

A reply I got from David of deatschwerks:

The spray pattern is different, anyone that tells you

otherwise is not being honest. I have had 3 different

injector technicians flow test them and they all said

they are fine. It is a stock conical pattern but the

spray is tigher than stock. This is true of any

larger than stock injectors. In addition, I run these

in my car and my local customers' cars. None of us

have had idle problems or loss of fuel economy. I

also have a steady 14-15 AFR at an 850rpm idle.

Either way it seems like the set tang0 bought are working fine in his car
