A cruise has been organised in each state, I have decided to participate and organise the Canberra event. I would encourage all members of car clubs to get there club involved in what should be a great day.:)

The plan is to drive to a nice location for a BBQ and meet with some of Canberra's car enthusiasts. A map will be provided closer to the date. Pass the word on this is for a very worthy cause so the more the merrier!

Feel free to PM me if you wish to assist with the running of the cruise.

More information on cruises in other states please contact [email protected]

Thanks

I'm keen! c'mon,SAU'ers!Pull ya finger out! None of this CBF stuff:we've all got homes to go to-not like south east Asia at the mo'...feelin' guilty yet?! Let's do this! Even just show up,donate $10+,then call it a day-it's a worthwhile cause!

SAU's community is gotta be one of the best around. Its a bloody good cause, if you just want to show up donate and go thats fine otherwise if we can get enough people this might be one of the biggest cruises Canberra has seen!

MIVEC - Well done champ. Thanks.

perhaps it would be worthwhile to let the local news networks know? e.g WIN, im sure they'd be keen to get out and get some footage, and its good for the scene if we can be on T.V behaving well and raising money for charity!

by that time ur car might be sold andrew then what will u come in?? but the tv crew sounds like a good idea i wouldnt mind seeing my line and me on tv. would tape it and watch it over and over again lol

Thats not a bad idea, the only problem may be the attaction of the Police. Then again if the media show them defecting cars while on a charity cruise, I dont think it would sit well. Once I can confirm numbers I will give them a call.

lol i thought you said "getting a haircut" and i couldnt help but think it may be more financially intelligent to get one here haha.

if i were running it i would also inform the police of the plan etc, tell them that its a charity cruise to raise money for the Indonesion disaster and they will be more than happy to let us go without any trouble, and also let them know that its an effort to show import owners in the ACT are responsible and we would appreciate their prescence at the meeting point as a sign of good will. Although i would also tell them that the local news channel will be there taking footage etc, because while the cameras are rolling showing how nice we are i dont think it will look to good for the police to be sitting there fining us for being "a little low".

    • KYBs are typically twin tube, putting them in the lower tier of desireability. Do you just want to replace worn out ones for the lowest cost? I mean, you wouldn't just replace one end of a car, if the rears are a similar age to the fronts, then they are probably nowhere near what they should be, and likely won't be great against brand new fronts. So, to spend ~$800 on 2nd tier dampers, when you could get a decent set of MCA coilovers for <$4k.....? As to the strut tops. 1st up, the Sparesbox site specifically tells you that they are not correct for an R33. Beyond that, why do you think you need them?
    • That's not very Toyota of the Toyota!
    • Bringing an old thread back to life Looking to put some new front shocks in the r33Gtst and the KYB still look ok for a road car. Unless there are any other options aroind that price $200 a shock?  I’d like to replace the strut tops also, is this the correct KYB no. For the strut top, KSM7124?  https://www.sparesbox.com.au/products/kyb-strut-top-mount-ksm7124?srsltid=AfmBOoq-HDru8wSlLnQrhU9gCw_uYdKg8gUQzONY-EQOdnI5iXOWEUjY 341287 appears to be the front KYB shocks part no.  thanks all
    • LandCruiser used to get a fluid flush every 12 to 18 months.   Only because it was about that often the electric motor on the master for brake assist kept dieing and needing to come off.
