3R1K
It happened to my car since I fit in my fuel pump (aftermarket) so I thought it's a normal noise? adznight
It's standard, they only pump a small amount of fuel at idle then when you put the foot down they pump at full pressure. This I assume is to prevent excess fuel being pumped up the lines then having to flow back to the tank via the overflow (or what ever it's called). I noticed it with my Bosche 975 and pulled back into the workshop and asked. I also smell fuel sometimes when starting the car and have worries a little too. Might be a breather? BHDave
Mine does exactly the same thing, it's just more audible on hot days for some reason, Walbro as well It's just the fuel pump speed control. The speed drops at idle as the power feed to the pump gets dumped through the big resistor near the ps reservoir when ever your foot isn't on the throttle and the car isn't moving Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/61388-fuel-pump-prime-when-acceleration/#findComment-1160171 Share on other sites
