hey,

i though id make another post for this problem.

i changed the timing on my rb26 with a nissian oem belt.

whats happening is the belt is rubbing hard again the large washer thing that sit on the crank between gear and the pulley.

i opened her up again today and it looks like the belt is too wide. it takes up the whole gear as you can see in the pic.

the pulleys them selves are in mint condition.

i dont know what to do!! did nissian give me a wrong size belt?

The position of the belt on the tensioner and crank pulley looks correct from what i can make out. Mine sat exactly the same way on the rb25 when i swapped the belt.

Silly question, but which way have you installed the plate that sits infront of the crank pulley, curving away from the belt? As it really only acts as a guide to make sure the belt doesn't slip forward and so i assumed it should be a pretty close fit.

yeah the place faces out wards. ill try to get a better photo (used my phone for that one).

the belt is defently rubbing something cause on e side of the belt is showing its insides.

i wonder if the bearings on the tensioners are gone? they looked ok when i took em out last.
