if one of the contractor speed camera's flashes a car that isn't registered do they normal just ignore it, or follow up on the matter? or send the fine to the last registered owner?

suppose it dpends if the old plates r still on the car no plates i cant see how they can follow up on anything

if there a plates on the car they will send the fine to the Regoed address of the Plates, and if you were driving the car the owner will get a Stat Deck and Sign the Fine over to you...

If plates were on the car you can expect $500 on top of the speeding fine. If there were no plates then you is lucky...

i was thinking of driving my 34 GT-T down from Sydney to Melbourne, it would have no plates, but i'd organise a temp rego thingy.... what happens if i'm zapped on the way down??? what exactly would they be zapping?

if its stationary cameras they cant do much chinny id say... especially if they cant see the front page in the window (they can generally zoom in on them with non-mobile cameras.

Mine was unregistered so I had an unregistered permit for it to be driven on the road. My plates were on record with Vic Roads as the form of ID for the permit. Assuming you have a permit, they would be tracked that way. If not then there is no way of catching up especially if it has been officially exported from another country.

Sorry above info for an unregistered imported car not just a normal unregistered car.

If they say.......zap you from the back doing maybe.......120km without plates then I am thinking that you will not get a fine.....not that I'd know or anything coz my car was never driven without plates

I think I was flashed at some stage and I'm on a UVP. No fine yet.. I don't see how they can fine a car with no plates? Then again I always thought that the flat surface of the number plate was what the laser locked onto? with no plates what does the laser lock onto?

Cameras Use the KA band not Laser. In fact most state cameras use KA and Cops hand held laser guns or KA mobile radars.

No number plates no fine dood.
