Mate of mine got his S2 back today from the mechnics today (just a standard service - he's too anal to let me do it for him)...I noticed that his mechanic put in set of Plantiums (NGK PFR6A-11) and Ryco Oil Filter Z442. The mechanic told him that he used the same parts from the R34 Skyline

So i'm guessing the Z442 is alright for the S2 stagea (since they share the same NEO motor as the R34)..am I right or am I tripping out?

  • 2 weeks later...
Yeah I run Z442's if available or z145a's otherwise

i also need to know if the front brake pads on a series 2 Rwd are the same as gtst R33 ?

dont think pads are same as a r33, as no on on hear has been able to match pads up. Can any one confirm?

Im getting a set of Remsa pads for my S2 RWD from a guy on this forum. Will let yas know how they go when i fit em up.

Afternoon,

First time poster. Looking for some help from a fellow 260RS S1 owner regarding rotor and pad replacements.

For most parts so far I've been purchasing parts for the BCNR33 which for motor & electrics have so far been the same. Is this the same for rotors an pads too?

best I;ve come up with so far for rotor sizes are from the link below which had them at: front 324mm, the rears 300mm http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wr...60743&st=40

I've seen a group buy and was thinking of purchasing some of these but wanted to check with someone else who's done this already. These appear to be the same size and was thinking going with R33 GTR pads too but wanted to be sure.

4. R32 GTR (late model)/R33 GTR/R34 GTR: F=7701S 324mm RRP $355, R=7702S 300mm RRP $355

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rd...98#entry4760398

Any help is appreciated.

Brake pads and rotors should indeed be the same as R33 GT-R, as pretty much everything under the body of the Stagea shell (whether it's an s1 or s2 Stagea 260RS) is the same as an R33 GT-R.

CV Joint Boot part numbers as follows...

Hey Guys I have just replaced my front boots with local Kelpro units at $15ea.

Part no':

Inner: CIB-228

Outer: COB-057

Only point I would make is that there is not enough grease supplied for the inner if you ask me, so grab some extra.

For more information, and pictures of the parts themselves, please refer to this post directly here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=4849949

tie rod ends - part number - 4852023U26

expect to pay $70-$80 a side..

Ok so here in New Zealand, Nissan is not very friendly...

They first quoted $230 for a tie rod end

Then after using the part number above which is listed as a "Socket kit" (they said) it would cost $150+GST

Then calling aftermarket parts place "Partmaster" they said $63 for R34 GTR tie rod end which matches part number:

48520-23U25

Note after searching all available Stagea information, I found various references to the part number ending in 26

and most of the threads don't have the final information of which part fit... :)

but this one:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St...39#entry4248839

Seems to indicate that 48520-23U25 would probably fit...

so for a $63 risk I'll probably order one and see if it fits...

Any advice?

The confirmed part number for a 96 Nissan Stagea RS4 front tie rod end is 40520-23U20. AKA socket kit. I had to jump over this hurdle a little while ago myself.

I can get you a brand new one for AU$150 shipped to NZ direct from Nissan Japan. PM me if you are keen :P

Hmm I PMed Chook and also obtained a copy of Nissan's FAST software... (albeit from 2001)... however I believe that both your part number from Nissan, and the 48520-23U25 part would probably fit and be the correct part... I have discovered that Nissan has a complex "Super-cession" system whereby new matching parts get new numbers...

In fact a major part of the FAST software is dedicated to "Alternate part lookups"... however the aftermarket parts market often sticks to the older part numbers, so going to my local Partmaster to get a 3rd-party version their book lines up with the old part number...

Cheers for all the help,

Gaspard

Hi all, this reply-post is an offer:

I have a copy of Nissan FAST working here so if you give me your VIN or Chassis/Model/Year then I can lookup genuine parts and see what else used those parts...

So the offer is, please post your questions here. then I can look it up and repost here... which means the parts thread gets some part numbers.

Limitations: only have up to 2001 version so no newer cars are covered... However, Series 1 and 2 Stagea are covered, and R32, R33, R34 are in there so yeah.

easiest to get exact results with the VIN Number in form (for example) WGNC34-004669 (this is my one)

This gives me trim level, engine type, even body colour ... Code... lol

The program has a Parts Master module which if you enter a part number will show what cars that part was used on... I find handy for cross referencing to more common Nissans which are in the book at the local car part place.

oh, PS if you give the NZ Plate number (for NZ users only) then I can use CarJam and lookup the VIN (usually)... so yeah.

Cheers

Hello All

I have purchased a new tail shaft centre bearing for my 2002 M35 unfortunatly the supplied part does not fit, the ID is too small. The dealer is no help saying that the part is for my car or I have a different tailshaft. The supplied box shows part No C7521-OV526 it looks like it has been returned before I was given it. Any help on what might be the correct part number or an equivilant Australian delivered car that similar bearing may come from.

Thanks

Muz

    • In a few years from now, you'll regret that. It'll eat away at you, knowing the truth of the ugly hiding beneath the beautiful exterior... 😛
    • I don't think the G2 profile is particularly dangerous for the engine per se, more just are you actually ok with the turbo lag trade-offs? If the answer is yes then go for it. I personally don't think I'd be ok with it because I spend so much time at lower RPMs and I really enjoy the feeling of being able to stay in 5th gear on the highway and just roll into the throttle to get boost. Or staying in 3rd gear on "gentle canyon cruises" without feeling the turbo lag too badly. The 525 pump should be able to run flat out on factory lines but I would bet the pressure drop from pump to regulator is quite impressive. I don't know how much it would be exactly but I've seen figures like 30 psi thrown around.
    • It's interesting seeing everyone talk about what level of risk they are happy to tolerate.  Building a GTR always has a level of risk, you could be that lucky guy that drops 20k on the engine build alone and still has the thing go pop on the dyno. Life is fun like that.  The way I see it, the thing is a toy to be enjoyed. I'd be happy to turn up the power on stock motor and limit the risk with sensible tuning and engine protection. If it still goes pop, it is what it is. The car isn't a daily driver so it can happily sit while a plan is made to sort it out.  Given this thing will be a street car only, I really feel it's worth the (relatively small if managed well) risk to turn the power up to around 350KW on e85.  I don't think anyone getting into the skyline game now is doing it out of logic. Surely it is a purely emotional decision so I'm not sure how important it is to think about the engine build logically. The heart wants what it wants.  @joshuaho96 little note for Josh, I run my 525 pump flat out all the time and through the factory lines without any issues. (excluding the melting connectors, that's sorted now. we'll pretend it never happened lol)
    • But the Nexus S3 is very expensive and won't be as purpose-built for the application as a separate electronic boost controller :^) More seriously my pet issue here would be that the Walbro 525 running at 100% duty cycle is going to require more FPR than the stock setup can handle. I'm also pretty sure from what I've seen elsewhere you might want to slow down the pump regardless unless you're going to come up with some way of upsizing the fuel lines coming from the fuel tank. Factory 8mm fuel line doesn't actually flow very much if you want to keep pressure drop down between the fuel pump outlet and FPR. If you really want to "keep it simple" I would run only as much pump as you need and source a fuel pump controller to slow down the pump in the vain hope of being able to run stock-style FPRs which are pretty dinky. Or just use the HICAS lines and it should be mostly fine. OP should also really think hard about what profile they'd want out of the turbo. My pet choice here would be the G1 profile rather than anything higher power but YMMV. I already think ~stock turbo lag is pretty bad so I don't want to make it worse. In "gentle canyon cruising" I found that I spent a lot of time around 4-4.5k RPM. I also recommend DIYing labor if you're detail-oriented enough. Costs are high for labor + if you do it yourself you can be your own quality control.
    • GTSBoy is again on the money. My actual advice? Sell the car. (really). For what it's worth as is, you can sidegrade into something much better. If you care about function then this is the actual move. If you want a Skyline to perform, set aside about $100K to do it. This is NOT a typo. You will see right away these are two very different mindsets. Realistically we're talking full restomod for any Skyline still kicking around. Have an honest think about which one you are.. and what you want to do, and how much you want to invest in this (with no return).
