Engine oil filter - AY100-NS004 (yes, they are quite small)

Engine Air Filter - AY100-NS001

Spark Plugs - NI22401-AQ816

Fuel Filter - 16400-4M405

The fuel filter is in the front left (when looking from the grill) side of the engine.

You will need to go from underneath to get to it.

Plastic clips are quite durable for what they are. to pop them off, slide a flat head screwdriver under the edge of the "head" of the clip and gently rotate the screwdriver on each side. The main pin will eventually pop up and you can remove it without breaking it.

You can get them just about anywhere - workshops, Nissan (have been quoted from 60c up to $2.20 each depending on dealership).

I have a Stagea Autech arx M35 series 1 (2002)

Would I use NI22401-AQ816 spark plugs and which Company is this.

What is the difference between iridium and platinum plugs in normal daily driving.

My last set were still going strong at 130k but I don't recall the type.

thanks

Nissan part number is 22401-AQ815 according to FAST and will be NGK platinum.

Iridium will perform longer than Platinum and can produce a better spark (obviously a lot of this comes down to the design of the tip)

Denso iridium plugs are IKH22 and are what a lot of us are using.

I am sure that someone will chime in with the NGK plug number.

It is pretty easy to change them yourself and there is a DIY over at m35stagea.info

http://m35stagea.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=64

NGK part is LFR6AIX-11

Iridium. bought some yesterday. $10 a plug, $8.00 Shipping.

Theres 6 more if people want

You are right. I got three B4 I got the right one.

its a massive pain in the ass to change the plugs on a VQ motor chuckie. hence us putting in the plats/iridiums in the first place.

You should have an S1 with a front facing plenum. Easy as.. LOL

As some know, the search function isn't working as of late.

So, quick question to those who needed to get tie rod end replacemnts. What ended up fitting, and what car are they suited for?

Cheers,

Adam.

There are three tie rod ends. Later today I will access some papers I have at another address which should tell which is which ...or you can match yours against these (BTW here's a tip - whether or not SAU search function is working I find it easier to use Google - it seems to find the threads on SAU no trouble):

Nisssan part no 48520-23U26.

R34 and R33 GTR are the same, part # 48520-23U25

OK I finally had the LH outer tie rod replaced on the Series 2 Stagea (1998 4WD).

This is what fits- Nissan genuine part No: 48520-23U26, cost was $87.

City Nissan Melbourne- parts centre Tel (03) 8383-8844.

Then calling aftermarket parts place "Partmaster" they said $63 for R34 GTR tie rod end which matches part number:

48520-23U25

If you are buying from a Nissan Dealer they should be able to find the right one if you quote your vin no but I will try to find my info tomorrow to see which aftermarket (cheaper) ones fit.

What's a height adjustable outer?

BTW this is the post I was looking for:

3 different tie rods outers for Stageas, depending on model, year, 4wd/2wd, MT/AT etc

48520-0cu25(2wd)

48520-15u25(4wd)

48520-23u25(4wd)

2 different for R33, both are same part # as 2 of the 3 Stagea tie rods.

48520-15u25(2wd)

48520-23u25(4wd)

To ensure you are getting right part for your car ref your vin.

Those are height adjustable outer tie rods.

They are used to correct bumpsteer on lowered cars.

That's why I need to know what works on the Stagea, rather then using part numbers as they are an aftermarket item. But if it's GT-R rod ends we use, then I might have to fabricate something up (yay, fun!).

I wonder if R33 knuckles are interchangable with the Stageas, hmm.

    • It still combines inches with mm, especially when you have .5 inches involved, and mm and inches that can go in either direction. This would give a clear idea on both sides of the rim, right away, with no arithmetic. Even better if somebody gives you the dimensions of the arch of multiple cars. i.e GTR may be 125mm, a A80 Supra may be 117mm, or something along those lines. Yes, you can 'know' that going from a 10in rim to a 10.5in rim with the same offset moves both sides about 6mm, but you still have to 'know' that and do the math. Often it's combined. People are going from 9.5 +27 to 10.5 +15. You may do the math to know it, but if it was going from (I had to go look it up to be sure) 241mm/2 - 27 - 93.5mm from the center line to (more math) 266/2 - 15 (118mm) from the center line. Versus 93mm vs 118mm. It's right there. If you know you have a GTT with 100mm guards you can see right away that one is close to flush and the other absolutely won't work. And when someone says "Oh the GTR is 120mm" suddenly you see that the 10.5 +15 is about perfect. (or you go and buy rims with approximately 118mm outward guard space) I think it's safe to say that given one of the most common questions in all modified cars is "How do offsets work" and "How do I know if wheels will fit on my car" that this would be much simpler... Of course, nothing will really change and nobody is going to remanufacture wheels and ditch inches and offset based on this conversation :p We'll all go "18x9+30 will line up pretty close to the guards for a R34 GTT (84mm)" but 'pretty close' is still not really defined (it is now!) and if you really care you still have go measure. Yes it depends on camber and height and dynamic movement, but so do all wheels no matter what you measure it for.
    • But offsets are simple numbers. 8" wheel? Call it 200mm, near enough. +35 offset? OK, so that means the hub face is that far out from the wheel centreline. Which is 2s of mental arithmetic to get to 65mm to outer edge and 135mm to inner. It's hardly any more effort for any other wheel width or offset. As I said, I just close my eyes and can see a picture of the wheel when given the width and offset. That wouldn't help me trust that a marginal fitment would actually go in and clear everything, any more than the supposedly simple numbers you're talking about. I dunno. Maybe I just automatically do numbers.
    • Sure! But you at least have simple numbers instead of 8.5 inches +/mm, relative to your current rims you do maths with as well, and/or compare with OEM diameter, which you also need to know/research/confirm..
