Intercooler Sizes

[MYC-R32]

Guys ive got an R32 GTST. I have a choice of 2 FMIC's. One is 600x300x76 and the other is 600x300x100. So far current mods include 3" mandrel zorst, dump pipe, rebuilt and hi-flowed turbo, rb26 cams, gtr injectors and bigger fuel pump. Im just curious as to what would be the better one to use?

Down the track im looking at fitting a TD06-20g or similar with a manifold, etc.

Any ideas comments?

not sure about the r32, but i think you'd have fun trying to wedge a 100mm ic in there .. i know it would not fit into an r33 without major hacking of various bits behind the front bar

Depends on what you want... If you just want a streetable car, I would think the 76mm would be fine... If you went to 100mm, you would probably see inefficiencies unless it was seeing full boost most of the time...

76mm is more than enough.

with the 100mm, you will get problems with no air getting to your already thin radiator..

not to mention more lag.

there are people who have used the 76mm one (I'm guessing HYBRID bar and plate) and made over 250rwkw comfortably.

the 100mm ones are really for DRAG only purposes as they will server no purpose on the street..

especially when connected to an RB20

The car has a full vertex kit on it, so room isnt too big a problem yet..
