looking at the first 2 pictures, there are sticker on the left, but not the right of the car... then that reversed shot shows stickers on the right side, but backwards..

so it would appear to me that they just horizontally flipped the photo (ie, it really was the left side of the car)

But if you look at the advertising in the background its the right way around

In the director's commentary for the FLCL anime series he says that it was traditional to write on vehicles from the front to the back. Mirroring is pretty much the only way to do that with Roman letters.

I am sure some kind of symmetry Feng Shui type deal is the reason for that.
