At 60 000km my car was serviced and NGK Iridium Spark plugs were installed.

My car has now done 100 000km....and the iridiums have failed....why cause it was chewin up fuel....missin at times and bit of pingin goin on.

So i replaced them with normal NGK BCPR7ES plugs @$4.20 each from autopro.

Car seems very well now..no associated problems.

Could be a good idea to check ignition timing. If its out of adjustment you will have bad fuel economy, pre-detonatation, and when the plugs are damaged enough it will misfire too. NGK iridium and the slightly better platinum are supposed to be best. Nissan fitted the GTR with platinum plugs from the factory. No matter wat plugs you put in if the tune of the car is out you will always need to replace them before its time to. I'll be interested to see wat other guys think that know their engines..
