I wouldn't touch the super protector at all.

A cop sees that (and they will from the next lane over) and they'll do you hard. They changed the law in regards to obstructing the number plate and it's applicable to this and the fine is up.

The spray looks like the best idea because only fixed speed cameras use the flash so no human is every going to think something is wrong. Although if you use that I think you should take the SAU sticker from your back window if you have one :)

As a matter of interest I ordered one of these photo blocker sprays a while back and never ended up receiving it. I don't know if it's cos they're dodgey, cos customs might have taken it (although I never received notification) or because I accidently sent it to next door (although they would have brought it over) :)

:)

Really, mother f#ckers... I duno if cops would notice it. That spray seems great but only works on Flash camera's. You can still get done easily. Like flash camera should have no reason to flash during the day right?

They might be able to get the spray?

I had the photoblocker plates, but sold them cause they stuck out like dogs balls, I would have been pulled over the by the first cop who drove by me. I suspect this is the same product.

You're better off buying the spray. I took before and after photo's from different angles and distances and it does work.

Or you could just not speed...  We all know that speeding kills..

Yeh depending on the conditions like all things. I dont speed in public areas, meaning any 60 - 100 areas. But i will put my foot down in areas where there are no houses, no bystanders, & no oncoming cars.

My want to get the spray is simply to help me out if someday i accidentally get caught out or a dodgy speed camera trys to fine me. f#ck that I'll play it safe & get the spray. BTW I’ve never had a speeding or red light fine of any sorts.

Or you can try : http://www.neltronics.com.au/other_products.htm ;these guys are in W.A. A good mate has got one of the plate covers(bottom of page)-has had it on for 4 years and saved himself heaps of $$$'s in dumbass revenue. He has have had the Police behind him on numerous occassions, and only once was the cover noted(yes,he was asked to remove it-it got put back on that night). They ARE illegal, before you ask.Either Zoom or HPi did a review of these, and hairspray,an official "plate-blocker" spray and one other equally dodgy item:the plate cover was the only one that scored above 5% efficiency(I think it was around 93-95%!)at blocking side on image taking(not just "flash")-the whole image disappears! Your call:it's your dollars/points.And,no,I wont post pics-from "dead-on",you and everyone will see his # plate!!

I thought flashes occur in daytime also.

And yeah since it's to protect the plate against photos I would only want it to be blocking the plate on the photo.

I would never use the obscuring license plate cover - may as well just take the plate off entirely (as a cop can see both just as easily).

aparently "PhotoBlocker" the spray got no law behind aka, cops cant bust u. or can they? does anyone know more abt this?

cos from wat i head, u cant have a palate over ur number plate covering it. but a spray? that aint no plate my friend

Anything that obstructs or obscures the numberplate is illegal. No matter what state you live in.

The numberplate frames that block the plate from an angle is just asking to be be busted. Parking police will notice it when they are doing their rounds and they can write you a ticket and report you. I have used the photo blocker spray and it DOES NOT WORK. I took before and after pics with my digital camera and it was the same. I think the new numberplates (in NSW) have a coating that does not make these products effective.

correction,. the rule says hte number plate should be visible to the naked eye at anyime (if its night obv with a light on it) aka. with the place u cant. the spray well, the plate is visible to the naked eye at all times

    • I found the same with Subaru’s.  I own and love the SG9 Forester, after that model 2008+, Subaru threw the ugly stick at all their line up and somehow managed to make them look worse with every succeeding year.  lol
    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
