When i bought my skyline i went to ever sigle dealer in Melbourne, here is a wrap up.

JSA:

Pros:

- Nice cars many to choose from

- Cost price aftermarket parts if u buy a car + free servicing for a limited time

Cons:

-Cars stored outside, high pressure selling, (tried to make me sign a contract so i could test dvrive a car)

-Cars are majorly overpriced (Wanted 24.5gran for s2 r33 gtst, told him "mate ill give u my number call me when u want to discuss a reasonable price. Got a call in 3 days offering 19gran for the same car, told him still too expesive)

Kamikaze Motors (Nearly bought a car from here)

Pros:

- Very good service [from the boss], knew what he was talking about, friendly, no high pressure selling

- Cars kept in a indoor showroom, many cars to choose from, very nice clean cars [the best i saw]

Cons:

- two showrooms (1 in keilor 1 in nanawading)

- Cars a little expensive (but they are in good nik)

- No warranty, must pay extra for warranty

Meticulous Motors in morrabin

Pros:

- Cars are cheap

Cons:

- Really really bad service (u feel like they dont want u to buy a car)

- Cars are in really bad condition

- Seem a little dodge

Sei Motors in dandy

Pros:

- None

Cons:

- The guy is dodgy period

- Has no idea wtf he is talking about

- The cars are kept outside and are in sh^t condition

- He is overpriced (for whats he's selling)

- Heard a rumour that he used to sell rebirthed cars (only a rumour though)

(If u happen to visit this dealer u'll get the picture of what kind of business hes running)

power rd in dandy

Pros:

- Reasonable prices

Cons:

- No r33 Gts-t manuals (the car i wanted)

- Pretty poor service, guy was not at all interested in selling a car, it seems that surfing the web proved more lucrative than potentially securing a 17gran sale

SSV in Oakley

(the place i bought my car from)

Pros:

- Cars very reasonably priced

- Cars in very good nik (provided auction report)

- 2yrs warranty (optional though)

- Very good service

Cons:

- Cars kept outside (some of them are under are tent roof though)

- cars are uncomplianced which means u wait 2-3 weeks after u put down a deposit before u receive the car (this will prob happen with other dealers too though)

Prestige cars (i think they're called) in spencer st, West Melb

Pros:

- cars kept inside

- cars are clean and in good nik

Cons:

- No service at all (the guy sells porsche and Ferrari, why would he care about a skyline buyer, i dont know y he even bothers to sell them) ie nobody came to even greet me

- Majorly overpriced, the equal most expensive with JSA

- No parking

These are the main places that have skylines on sale.

There are many other places as well with 1 or 2 skyline but i wouldnt buy one from there and for a very good reason that i will explain.

If there's a dealer that mainly sell cars other than Jap imports, the attitude towards skylines i found is usually: 'i wouldn't touch them, ur looking for trouble mate, those cars are expensive to run, service and they've always got problems." This is proof that these type of people dont really know much about skylines, dont like them and don't really want to sell them.

So u ask urself the question: 'why is this guy selling a skyline?" There are 2 possibilities.

1. He got it as a trade in, which means most likely the car has got lots of k's and will prob be in bad nik

2. He got it for really really cheap.

Since the guy doesn't specialise in skylines, he doesnt know really what to look for, and even if he does, the 1 car he has is going to be at the lower end of the scale since he got it for so cheap.

Best to buy from a guy with lots of skylines so u can pick and choose and make sure that u dont get a lower end skyline.

Hope this helps, if ive missed any other large dealers let me know coz i prob forgot a few

im not having a go, but you're all writing about how car yards are dodgy because all their cars have resprays and kits etc...

then you all praise allblitz....ive seen about 5 or 6 of the cars for sale through allblitz on their site, and they usually have aftermarket kits, and colors like monaro yellow etc....

the point is people will always have an opinion on a place, and usually because thats the only place they dealt with.

no. we were saying jsa is dodgy not because they have aftermarket kits and re-sprays, but because there kits arent put on properly and there re-sprays are usually done very tacky. thats the difference here dude. ;)

if you actually go to jsa, and have a look at the cars there, like a really good look, then you'll see what we're on about :(

I bought mine from Power Road, and I thought the service was alright.

I got the car I wanted at a reasonable price, and the car turned out OK.

One thing I will say, the guys that sell these cars professionally have to deal with >50 moron tyre kickers and test pilots for every one buyer who is halfway interested (and doesn't have to get mummy and daddy's money to buy the car).

If i was them, my murder count would be pretty high after a while.

Kamikaze motors down in rooks rd, nunawading are pretty decent from what i've heard...they carry a fair few skylines too; prices are around the average mark which is a bonus, plus they import to order as well i believe...(don't quote me on that)

I bought my car from them. Was the ONLY good car there exept for an Immaculate R33 GT-R Series 3. Most the cars there are crap. The mechanic also told me (The only Good thing about SEI motors are the mechanics) was that the owner of the yard wanted to replace the HKS turbo on my car with a stock one but the mechanic said he wouldnt do it.

www.holfordmotors.com

go down to there workshop/yard.  They supply most cars to other yards and have excellent prices.

The ONLY car yard I would buy from ever!!!

Dom is the most down to earth boke in the world and knows his shit. He is NOT a salesman and doesn't push sales at all. If you want to buy a car he'll have one or get you one, if you don't like a car then no problems.

The first time I went in looking for an R32 gts-t I saw one with 263,xxxkm's on it. I freaked out as I had never seen such a thing, he informed me that it is quite common for cars to come in with high km's. Difference is he doens't wind them back.

All of his cars are in stock or on the way, and if they are in stock you can inspect.

Prices are on par with importing direct from Japan, with no risks as you pay once the car is landed and sitting in front of you.

Plenty of aftermarket parts available at good prices.
