Hey Ken,

As far as importing goes did you help with the compliancing and everything?

Are we allowed to know how much the r34 gtr came up to in total?

That car is the car of my dreams....... if i win the lotto i will be giving you a call....

Yeah Frank's is a great guy! Know him for years, is a friend of my friend. They have a yard in Cannington near William St and now a new place in Vic Park.

He helped me out looking for a car, was looking at a black Toyota Chaser Tourer V, but didn't have quiet enough spendoolies for it!!

Anyway got a better car now!! Go the Line!!!

Dan, we bought the car from the East, has been in the country for a while.

In fact it was the 2nd one in and was on the front cover of HPI no9

Car has reciepts for $15K of engine work plus a LOT of money spent on handling( DMS suspension etc) and laps the Qld tracks quicker than Porsches on club days.

Lets just say the price was under $85K sitting at his house..

Cheers

HOLY CRAP!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS!

That is an amazing price, you have sold me! should the time for me come to move on from SLY i will be knocking on your door!

saw that - thought the guy was a total prat.. burnouts to display the handling on a GTR?

Don't tell me you wouldn't if you had the chance :)

Tolley drives rally cars, I think he maybe doesn't feel at home unless there is some sort of wheel spin :)

Tolley has done a couple of segements on pauls car. One of the guys from DriveTime TV is a friend of pauls.

But yes seeing your future car on TV with someone thrashing ze crap out of it would make me think twice about buying it - especially if you are going to fork out big dollars for a car.

Exactly Niz

He has little respect for a car that will become someones pride and joy one day after shelling out a considerable amount of money.

Cheers

I didn't see the tv thingo. If he didn't stand on it till the tyres blew up then I reckon thats hardly thrashing it, I'm guessing the car didn't even do a good burnout.

But as often as I hear the comments about how people "wouldn't buy that car because I saw the owner do a burnout...." I am reminded of how we can all be quite hypocritical in this situation. I've caught myself a few times. I sold a gtst that on top of going to the drags (worse than a burnout) ran a nitrous kit that I used. The owner knew about what I did to the car and dispite the abuse it was in great nik.

R34,

I think you could have said the same about the dearly departed 'buffy' before mike bought it. What was the nick name again buffy the comodore slayer? Mik ended up buying a great car, granted it would have been better value if an old granny had owned it but, not by much. Skylines can take it without stressing too much.

The tv coverage is great for any prospective owner, since it was seen by so many people there is no mistaking the kind of activities this car was made and used for when the owner comes to making a decision of purchase. I think a video record of a cars life is a great idea. What would your cars video be rated? G for general veiwing or MA for mature audiences only?

Couple of points there mate.

I was referring to doing a burnout in a car.

I'm not a fan of burnouts as I feel they are too hard on a car requiring no special driver skill.

But hey if your into that fine and if you own the car and have paid for it you've earned the right to I guess. My objection was to "borrowing" a $80k plus vehicle and caning the ring out of it.

Having said that I've never subjected any car I care about to a burnout (ie Buffy the V8 slayer) but have enjoyed taking a car to it's and my own limits. That's enjoying a car as the designer intended.

Secondly if an old Granny had owned the car instead of me it would be minus the gear that was included with the car. It may not have been serviced regularly by granny either who knows. Most people here would rather a lightly modded car with some fruit on it over a stocker I guess. Depends on how you define good value.

Well I went in and had a look at the bayside blue GTR today......

Not impressed with the condition of the vehicle - but as some of you know as a fussy bugger..... pus its a not a v spec
