Hey, looks like another ricey NFS game, probably with even weirder looking bodykits and more modifications than you can poke a stick at, i like the idea of cops though.

Quote: NFSCars.com:

The series will ditch the Underground moniker, with the new game carrying the title Need for Speed: Most Wanted. The information, leaked to us last week, states that the multi-platform offering will ship across the world in late 2005.

Most Wanted will be available for Xbox 2, Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, PC, PSP and “Game Boy Advance or Nintendo DS.” A pleasant added value news snippet details a “…simultaneous ship, with the Xbox2 platform", which indicates a late 2005 release for Xbox2 too. Though whether the machine will go under the ‘Xbox2’ name is unclear. But the launch period, as dated by the world’s leading third-party publisher, can now be pencilled in.

The picture we get is of a game that is not really too different from the Underground duo, with one key difference: Most Wanted takes the series back to its roots, with police chases making up the body of the gameplay. (Yipppeeee !!!! <----- Viper's personal Observation )

The game will feature:

"Outwit cops" missions

Visual customisation to manage your ‘heat meter’

Epic Hollywood-style police pursuits with up to 15 cop cars on screen

Skill-based cop evasion and upgradable evasion technology

Interactive environments conducive to eluding cops

There is also a rap-sheet system, in which a player’s notoriety is upped by performing more dangerous manoeuvres in the view of following police.

Eight game modes are promised:

Multiple point races

Toll booth races

Speed trap photos

Outrun

Outrun best route

Circuit

Sprint

Knockout – Cost to state, pursuit milestones and headlines

Milestones

Four ‘distinct regions’ will be offered, along with real time weather and an evolving environment.

*There will be no racing during the night-time*

all the action taking place between sun up and sunset.

Online play will be included with what is described as a ‘similar feature set to NFSU2’ though this time, world-wide play will be included with no conflict between the North American and European versions.

Around 100 motors will be on offer. ‘Asian import (tuners), exotics, American muscle and Euro imports,” as detailed by EA.

Could this mean the more rice we put on, the higher the 'heat meter', the higher the chance cops will chase us?

Guess its better to build sleepers

/me jumps for joy

Finally! Now we can see where we're driving!

Also seems like this game'll encourage stupid behaviour...It'll definately affect the pre-pubescents heavily, with the wrap-sheet system in place...

I'd also like to see a return of the S2000, DC2 and DC5 Integra (and not just in the American version!) And I personally wouldn't care if they decide to 'lose' all those SUV's and the American rice culture. Don't like my chances tho.

SUV's = homo in N4SUII they were good to do up but the worst to drive!the S15 would be great im not a big fan of the dc5 but i like the dc2. and i really like the whole concept of underground so if they scrap it ill be pissed. even tho this may have similiar atributes i will miss underground :'( and if theres no similarities to UG then it doesnt get my vote

lol - must have taken a bunch of genious' to think that one up.. Need For Speed: High Stakes meets NFS:U.. don't you all feel jibbed they didn't put cops in the FIRST NFSU?

I can just picture a series of never ending sequels with slight improvements till it gets boring and nobody gives a shit anymore.. what happened before NFSU came out.

Isn't that what we all thought when Need for Speed 38 came out??

i herd that the creator of NFSU didnt put police in it because its strictly underground where all the rules are ment to be broken, when you come to think about it it wouldve been homo to put cops in nfsu cause u can get them in all the others, its prob good that there putting them in the new one though, im not a big fan on cops tho so thats my opinion :P

  • 2 weeks later...

at least it will be realistic in the sense that all the people who dump 20,000 in they're

body kit paint job and sound system will get arrested for it

oh no thats what i want to happen...

if only real life imitated video games the world we be so much better.

p.s. and i could be mario

    • If it's magnetic what is stopping you from using a magnet on a thin wire from fishing it out?
    • Those 2 solenoids in that assembly I mention, are the PWM solenoids for torque converter lock-up clutch & EPC (line pressure control) ~ when most folks hear of 'solenoid failure', the tendency is to think electrical failure...but fact of the matter is, especially wrt the EPC solenoid (which is moving/running all the time), you can have an electrically 'good' solenoid, that's absolutely broken/worn out mechanically inside...ie; valve plunger return spring rubbing against spring retainer plate, lowering preload pressure.. ...and the solenoid armature extension limit spring wafer with bad wear/broken off petals... ...and if there's ever been any metal flying about, damage to the valve plunger end itself... ...the stuff one never really sees, unless you go the whole 10yards trying to answer the question "why is my line pressure screwy, but TCU isn't flagging any EPC solenoid fault?"...and carefully dissect the solenoid. Worst (and most probable) scenario is when the plate spring petals break off, they get held by the magnetic flux, get mashed up by the armature into little bits, which end up in the space between the armature & shading core bore, and things get stuck or randomly jam up, and your line pressure goes flat and doesn't change...and the TCU never sees it, as it doesn't actively monitor LP... ..then it gets into insidious land, if you end up with lower than expected line pressure...lets say high clutch..and the lower pressure causes it to slip ~ when I say 'slip', think say 2000rpm on the drive plates, and 1800rpm on the driven plates, because the slip is making them under-rotate by 200rpm ; you get all the usual nasties like heat and band/clutch wear, but even if it's only 20rpm slip the same thing happens...and... you'll hardly ever pick this up driving the thing with the torque converter active as it effectively masks these sorts of slippages that are line pressure related ...(the newer TCUs can detect clutch slip rate)...just  FYI as it were...

    • Hey guys, so Golebys has good prices on Bosch injectors, and also sell an adaptor to go from 1/2 length injector to standard with the Nissan 10.5mm top seal.  Does anyone know if that adaptor is to suit the 14mm or 11mm injector tops?  And re. The bottom seal, to suit my standard RB20 intake, would I be right in saying I can just slip the 14mm square section O ring over the bottom of the new injector and done? Thanks in advance guy, Cheers, Rowdy
    • F my life. I was changing the oil on my R32 GTR today as usual and ran into a bit of a snag. I drained the oil out and was getting ready to finish the job by tightening the drain plug, however The stupid magnetic oil drain plug snapped in half, right at the magnet part. After about an hour of trying to remove it, I used a drill bit, which unfortunately pushed the magnet all the way into the pan, and just leaving the hollow threaded part of the bolt remaining. I was able to remove the hollow portion of the bolt from the oil pan with some pliers but the magnet is still in there.  So, the question is, should I drop the oil pan to get the magnet piece out, or is it okay to leave it in there? I really dont want to drop the pan, i'm about to go nuts.  PSA: Do NOT buy a BLOX magnetic drain plug. This is the one i had.    https://bloxracing.com/products/magnetic-oil-drain-plug-m12x1-25mm?variant=37131252859052&country=US&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw47i_BhBTEiwAaJfPpgti1D2JwO7TDuMpXuqeQPCuIQSAfwxpWQH5rF9MD7sm5SCZDWLR_RoC_YoQAvD_BwE
