hey all :D

just a quick one - check out the pic...

9707TPS-med.jpg

should there be wires coming from the plug in the sensor on the right?

There are some extra wires connecting to the bottom of the sensor, my car's running fine, no idling issues - so i'm assuming it's working correctly.

But it's just bugging me that it's not hooked up there to anything...

I've seen 2 wiring harnesses there on other pics of engine bays...wondering if that's something i'm lacking. or is that something only specific to S2 'lines (i've got a S1)...

thanks in advance :D

they are to hook up to your nitrous controller so the system can squirt the gas in at 2/3 throttle. j/k

Are you trying to have a lend of us? (two.06l, you certainly are!)

The plug (without the wires) is the Throttle Position Switch, which tells the ECU that the throttle is closed or WO. The other is the Throttle Position Sensor, which tells the ECU exactly how much throttle is being applied.

The engine should be idling quite high, because the ECU can't sense the 'throttle close' state.

It's the same on pretty much every series one RB25 i've seen. Including mine.

It actually has a blanking plug on it so no problem. If it had no plug then i'd be concerned.

Mine works fine, though i know where blind_elk is coming from as my rb20 had both wired in and if plugged in then it is simply an open/closed switch.
