HICAS light turning on????

hicas coming on after 5-10minutes of driving could be due to having an aftermarket sterring wheel fitted, one that doesnt have a hicas boss kit fitted or the sensors arent lined up correctly. the hicas system has two sensors inside the steering wheel hub to calbirate and locate direction of steering. if these sensors cant pick up a signal after 5-10min driving the light comes on. also general mech failure would cause the light to come. in r33 the fluid for hicas is in the boot, right hand side, one of the panels flips down and reveals a power steering fluid tank thingy.

hicas only comes on when speed > 80km/h and turns the wheels 1 degree in either direction.it wont make your car go sideways at low speeds etc

HICAS also helps turn the wheels at low speeds to improve the turning circle. Its well documented in numerous HICAS threads.

I havn't tried my self. I had burnt the manual onto CD for them (and they had used it), but I might give it a bash. And has the origenal GTR steering wheel on the car when.
