How long do they last? Could you post how much you've clocked on your RB engine?

Cheers

all relative to you right foot,

and ofcourse for writing cheques to your mechanic,

your right arm.

You carn't predict the lifespan of an enigne. As others have said its how you drive/look after it and what modification's are done.

eg: Fairly Modified RB26 - could last 80,000ks or could last 180,000 depends on what you do to it.

Stock GTR, RB26 is nearly impossible to kill & will last for ages if you look after it. - meaning stock boost aswel.

I've dragged this from an article on the VL commodore.

  Quote
Nissan's 3.0-litre six was a jewel of an engine, engineered for a 400,000 km life and offering a third more power from 10 per cent less capacity while using 15 per cent less low octane unleaded, compared to Holden's old 3.3-litre six on high octane leaded fuel.

If the RB30 was suppose to have a 400k life, you would think the other RB engines would be the same.

I have no doubt, any RB engine bottom end will do over 400k if left at stock power levels.

I have pulled down RB30's with over 300k and they still have hone marks.

They are great engines, well over-engineered.
