Recommended Posts

Now, I know that this is offically the wron place to put this thread, but I think the cause is large enough to warrant a special exemption.

In response to the recent disaster and the ongoing need for international support, the Victorian Car Enthusiasts community has expressed a desire to help out. Well, here it is.

Skylines Australia, Commodore Cruise Club and (insert your club name here) would like to invite you to one of Victoria’s biggest cruise’s yet.

Date: 13th February, 2005

Time: 11:30 am for a 1:30 departure

Location: Manhattan Hotel Car park

Crn Canterbury Road and Heatherdale Road Vermont.

Enter from Heatherdale road.

Destination: T.B.A on the day.

Maps $10 with all monies going to the Red Cross

On the day there will be BBQs and media coverage.

This event is being supported by the Red Cross of Australia.

Currently, almost every car club in Victoria has been contacted to support the cruise.

THIS IS A DISPLAY CRUISE; ABSOLUTELY NO STUPID BEHAIVER WILL BE TOLERATED. This is a chance to show that we aren’t all bad.

So shine em up, and bring em out.

Have a look at some of Victoria’s best looking cars all together for this great cause.

Will definately be there, with my very stock Stagea (K&N Filter though)

Due to various reasons, Commodore Cruise Club and Skylines Australia must change the nature of the Charity Event being held on the 13th of February 2005.

We are unable to run a mass cruise as such due to legal, liability and logistical reasons. There aren’t many places that hold 1000 cars at once!

We will therefore be changing the event to a SHOW AND SHINE where everyone will be able to meet and greet and check out some serious metal.

The Manhattan will still be the venue for this event and we will still be running a BBQ and having a great time.

The Australian Red Cross will still be involved and all donations go straight to them.

We will be at the Manhattan for a bit longer, probably until about 4pm which gives everyone more time to check out all the cars and bikes in attendance.

Everything is the same as before, we will just not be able to go on a mass cruise.

HOWEVER, each car club is encouraged to run their own cruise from the Manhattan leaving at about 4pm.

As said above, we can still cruise, but just not as a huge mass.

Commodore Cruise Club and Skylines Australia will be cruising on from this event on their own cruises to various locations.

We still want this to be an event which will be a huge success for the Tsunami Appeal and during the next two weeks, we will be adding difference things to the day to make it just as much fun.

We encourage each car club to cruise TO the Manhattan, so start organizing your “pre-meets” and cruises to the Show and Shine.

Again, apologies for the change in event type but this will still be a huge event to don’t stop polishing those rides!!

Cheers

Did you manage to get a word in to the officer you met with about DEFECTING people that attend or as they leave.... and B4 anyone starts saying "well if you drive an illegally modded car you deserve it" I know for a fact that alot of you have aftermarket computers / non padded centre steering wheels (DEFECTABLE) and what not in your cars. Anyways by the time this event kicks off I will be 100% legal ;-). I bought a padded centre yesterday (may I say it's farken hard as a rock!)

Sorry to be a stick in the mud but just being extra parinoid.

the words the the senior seargent used was 'just dont all stand there with your bonnets up when we walk past"

Cheers...

My hood is shut the whole day! It's got a really dirty engine :) no way I'd open it at a show and shine ;)

This event is being supported by the Red Cross of Australia.

Is this still going ahead?

The Red Cross have stopped taking donations for this cause now. :headspin:
