Replacing timing belt and djustable cam

(hmmm, the more you learn, the more questions you have)

If i was to get my timing belt changed for a 100,000km service, would it be worth getting them to install an adjustable exhaust cam at the same time even if not to alter the setting?

Just have it there for next time i do have a dyno tune and then play with the settings then.

If that is a good idea, is it much more effort for the mechanic?

Lets just make up a figure of $600 for changing belt (with supply) but i bring along a adj cam and say "hey, while your there, can you swap this over?"

How much more would this cost you reckon?

It shouldn't cost you any extra to swap cam gears over .

From memory it cost me about $125-150 -just- to get an ex cam gear fitted & dyno tuned

It'll take them less than 10 minutes to swap it if the cam belt is already off. It's only 4 bolts.

You may as well change your water pump at the same time, makes good sense.

in a perfect world the cam wheels will already be off because there replacing camshaft seals, and crank seals :headspin:
