I was wondering does anyone have any feedback about various Tomei bits and pieces? Particularly the pistons, rods, Head gasket, solid pivots, rocker stoppers and turbos they make?

From other sources I have gathered that their internals are very strong, as are most of the other parts, but no one seems to know much about their turbos, which according to their website have sharp response, flat torque character, and the highest peak power which sounds very interesting, as Im not very interested in lag or huge power, just response and torque

so does anyone know anything about Tomei parts? SK??

Tomei equipment.. I have done a lot of research into Tomei, I fitted Tomei Camshafts into my SR20..

Tomei engineer everything for mid range power, response and torque, whereas comparatively, HKS produce higher pm horsepower. This is evident through their camshafts for the SR20

Stock SR20

240 deg 9.2mm lift.

Tomei PONCAM (Baseline)

256 deg 11.5mm lift

HKS baseline

256 deg 10.5mm lift..

Lift give your more torque and mid range power, whereas duration is only useful for higher rpm power.. Everything Tomei that I have had including Cams, Springs, Rocker Arm Stopper kit, Dump Pipe has all been of exceptionally high quality and very very well finished..

I produced a lot of Dektop Dyno Engine simulations for different Camshafts for the SR20, including HKS, Tomei, Trust, JUN and JWT.. Tomei came out on top every time.. They may be a little more pricey, but I think it is worth it.. I even got more power at idle adn off of boost with Tomei PONCAM and boost came in earlier as they advertised, no cam gears added either, just 0 deg timing..

I personally will be fiiting Tomei Equipment to my RB26, in the form of

Tomei PROCAM 260 deg 10.85mm lift

Tomei Headgassket 1.0 or 1.2mm

Tomei Tpye A or B Valve Springs

Tomei Lifters

Tomei Kevlar Timing Belt

Tomei Adjustable Cam gears.

Tomei RB26 Dumps

I believe I am like you, I love mid range, I am not one to rev my car to get power, I enjoy good response and a "chunky" mid range.. I am a full supporter of their equipment..

Over the coming months I will doing RB26DETT Desktop Dyno Simulations for Tomei Camshafts and other Camshafts, hopefully with the vision of making my purchase mid year as it's too damn hot to wokr on car up here at the moment..
