Today I was driving along past Perry Lakes and turned onto Oceanic Drive.

As I entered Oceanic I booted it (I usually do and then slow quickly to go right towards my girlfriends house). Anyway today I felt like a bit more of a drive so I continued up Oceanic.

I saw a speed camera on the left hand side of the road ... and so braked and dropped it down a gear. By the time I was going past the speed camera I was doing maybe 60-65kph, but the guy ****an turned the flashlight at me and it flashed.

I did a u-turn up the road, and came back and yelled at him (just called him a wanker ... prolly shouldnt but it was spur of the moment), and then he yelled back at me "you just lost your licence"

I was like wtf but didn't bother going back.

I can't lose my licence can I?

Even if he saw me boot it?

hahahah his craft ;)

yeah I was in a good mind to stop, but then I thought he'd probably call the cops and tell them I was harrassing him ;)

oh well as long as I don't lose my licence I don't care!

I shouldn't get anything more than a $50 fine ;)

shit on a stick. i saw that camera there on the way to work.

u shouldnt have verbally abused him though. it should have done more civally. this is what i would have done...

1) go to woolies servo on the boulavard. fill petrol canister.

2) go to speed camera van and produce big wad of tape.

3) wrap tape around car so the doors and rear of van cant open.

4) get petrol and pour over car.

5) get lighter and light the thing on fire

6) run for your life and start laughing as the camera operator burns to death.

i think you will find speed camera operators are now classed as public officers --means as i am one also (not for speed cameras but) that abusing one is the same as abusing the police so my suggestion cop it on the chin and fight it in court but the person on the camera is just doing there job if he turned the thing which i doubt becuase they are a bastard to set up (seen them do it) then u have a defence

ahhh, reminds me of the time I got flashed by a speed camera at night... the infamous red flash...

The operator was standing like 8metres behind it holding a radar gun and what looked like calibrating the device.

It flashed at me...

no ticket ever made it to my letterbox... and i was PLUS 20+ over :(

SCORE!

This seems like an appropriate thread to tell you about me little escapade no more than 3 months ago.

Those of you familiar with the Joondalup are should know where the woolworths petrol station is at currambine.

Well just after i finished the gym on the Opposite side of the road from the petrol station i could see a multinova with the guy standing right next to it, being the little shite i am and rubbing it in i went past at 30kmh all of a sudden FLASH!!! WHAT THE F*CK i thought. so i stopped 10 metres in front of him and slammed my door shut then approached him. I promise you i wasn't going to hit him but he moved really quickly towards his car, and hand on the door so he could hide in the van! i must admit as i hopped out my car i did say I WASN'T SPEEDING!! anyway while he was quivering on his van i said it again and he said "Oh yeah it is international tests we have to do now every so often" BULLSHIT i said and walked off! Half of me felt good for standing up for the public the other half made me feel like a bully coz he was sh*tting himself!??

Anyone else ever heard of these random annoying flash tests? If not then he deserved to sh*t himself!

Yeah Dan i've seen them do the tests on me and i've never been sent tickets... Its just a calibration test to make sure everything is setup correctly...

But this one time at band camp... Sorry couldn't resist... :( It was about June this year and pissing down with rain and i was fanging it along Roe Hwy coz i was late for a movie (doin 145 in 100 zone), it was pitch black and pissing down with rain then all of a sudden there was the imfamous flash and DAMN stoopid speed camera, but i have still yet to receive the ticket... Damn i was lucky with that one...

I got done couple of years ago and viewed the photo as I knew there would be two cars in the photo as it was on the freeway.

Yes there was me and another car in the photo but he said it was trained on the car in the middle of the photo (me).

Sly bugger initially showed me a photo of my car only until I made him pan it out.

Asked for a 8"x10" glossy as it was a nice pic but he had no sence of humour the :whackit:

hahaha

I have no time for them.

They chose the job so they can take the flack.

I don't feel bad for calling him a wanker, I'm just wondering if he can say something to someone that'll make me get in shit for speeding.

    • I'm not up to date on the latest, but for basic modifications like pod filter, lower springs etc you can get a modification permit at the time of inspection.  For more serious modifications you will need engineering.  Intercoolers used to fall into the mod permit rule but its been a long while since i looked it up.   Either way you will be able to get it registered, just a case of $300 vs $3k .
    • Hi everyone! I’m the new owner of a 1996 R33 GTS-T, I’ve purchased this car over from Queensland and brought it to Western Australia and I’ve found that there is a hole cut out in the engine bay for the FMIC that enters into the wheel well (fender liners are in the boot). For anyone that has had to get their car over the PITS here, will this be a major issue?
    • Yeah I've spotted this one too, whenever it's lotto superdraw week and I'm browsing car sales dot com for my new ride They must be dreaming, maybe it's worth 150k for the link to Brock?
    • 100% accurate!  We are a pack of know it alls....  But, I bet people go to you when they have a problem! I've been on a bit of a clean up rampage too over the past month!  I've thrown more shit in the bin over the past 2 weeks than I have in the past 3 years combined! Anyway, it's all good fun being different! My wife sometimes does not agree!
    • ADHD in all form isn't about "can focus, or can't focus" or is hyper active or isn't etc.   It's all a dysregulation. Either time feels to be stationary, or time just vanishes in a split second. We are either under focussed on the task at hand (as we're over focussed on our surroundings) or we have no idea an atomic bomb went off beside us as we're so hyper focussed and locked in on things.   Not to mention the rapid fire thought process. What it takes a "normal" process to think up a solution to a problem, ADHD will be able to give you 5 different ways to solve the problem, and the pros and cons of each. While we can be highly impulsive and lack the ability to "control ourselves" we can also become paralysed with the inability to make a decision for ourselves. While most of us have an OCD like requirement for perfection, we lack the ability often to remain focussed to get things to a perfect state. Those with undiagnosed ADHD as adults, can often find the last part actually stops them ever attempting to do things that they have the ability to do, as the reasoning is often "if I can't do it perfectly, it's not worth doing"   As for projects... Ha ha ha, I still need to take the other half of my wall trim down in the Fiance's office so I can paint it. Need to finish digging and running the back yard drains, my R33, getting the Ninja bike registered (now being sold), the moped project, fixing either of the lawn mowers so they're reliable, along with a myriad of other things.   It's why I've been going through lately and just being brutal and clearing projects off that I won't actually ever complete. IE, moped will go to the tip, or be given away, bike is being sold, Subaru project being sold, some parts for other projects given away. Or I've been making myself focus on one thing at a time, by ticking off the smallest quickest ones first.   There's also a reason by our mid twenties we seem to be "know it alls", as we've all been down some of the weirdest and oddest rabbit holes when you follow the dopamine trail. It's often also why we're more a jack of all trades, but not a master of one.   However, pretty much all of my hobby projects, in one way or another, all come back around to automotive. That's my zen area.
