my hicas light comes on after almost exactly 20mins from start up

do not feel a noticeable difference either way, so was wondering if this means it is on or off?

was told after purchasing (as i hadnt d4riven it for 20mins on test drive), that this light comes on after the hicas has warmed up or something and when it comes on it means the hicas has been activated??

any light shed on subject appreciated.

am not having a good run with this car@all

Hey Dude,

Only had ma GTR for a week, so Im no expert, but the light isn't supposed to come on, who ever told you that is full of it. Check these forums, it can mean anything from low power steering fluid ( R32) to a dud sensor.

Start with the HICAS diagnostic mode ( again check forums )

( Mine came on for 400km last weekend when I hit a pot hole in a hick town between QLD and Tamworth, but has now disappeared )

Hope this helps

Aftermarket steering wheel

Fitted mine last night, thought hte yellow round thing with the H on it was for the horn lol so i removed it,,, its actually the HICAS sensor...it has to be the right way up, the sensor needs to be adjusted try taking the wheel off and adjusting it. Ill fix mine later...

The light comes on after about 10 20 minutes driving

Can you damage anything by having the light come on and doing nothing about it? My light also comes on but only if I'm on a long drive. I've been told that it's a sensor issue, but as I don't have any steering dramas when it comes on and rarely go on long drives I haven't bothered fixing it.

"Gonna get paaaaaaaaanched!"

well if you have an aftermarket steering wheel and its coming on, its almost definately that your sensor isnt lined up properly, however their is always that % of doubt that your HICAS is actually ****ed.

HICAS = High Capacity Actively Controlled Suspension, a fancy way to say 4 wheel steering

high-performance system which steers the rear wheels in either phase (same direction) or counterphase (opposite direction) as needed (to a maximum of one degree) to enhance steering response and cornering power of the rear tires

If you dont have an aftermarket steering wheel and your light is coming on, get it checked out, and fixed if you need the 1 degree turning power in the rear wheels lol
