Yeah, it tends to get that way after the 10th 5% beer ;) Finished my last exam today and got hell trashed watching epII and lotr: extended on dvd.

I just hope the moderators don't close this down before we get some decent results.

Get off the pooter and drink your way through the other 14 beers in that carton!! ;)

Whoops, that should be "> 10 beers". Theres a six pack left in the carton plus a coulple in the fridge. My friends are soft, so I didn't get a chance to drink the rest ;)

Ah, is this in no way directed at you. We already made peace in the last thread ;)

This is more a problem with IMACUL8 and moderators that won't let me end with a decent argument (yeah, thats you Boostzor ;) ).

Again, R33_Cam, this poll is not directly aimed at you. And in the face of popular belief, I believe that every individual is free to do what they want to their car. What I'm looking out for is the Skyline community as a whole.

i was just makin sure thats all, no offence intended ;) im gonna say that i dont rekon i am complete ricey, only a few stickers and 2 neons, not as bad as F&F graphics, and fluffy toys, and it comes down to how far someone has to go to start getting called "riceboy", for instance, i know a few commondore owners that would call any skyline owner "riceboy", regardless of stickers etc etc, i think the word is used to loosely, and depending on who u are and what your into depends on how you use it.......

thats my thoughts on the subject, this thread will probably get a few people a bit hot under the collar, but it should be a good laugh to see what kinda comments come out, and who takes it to heart.

theres my 2c worth :shake:

:fight!: :uzi: :(

What the hell is an ostrich? is that like an emu?

IMHO any additions that do not enhance the performance or basic operation of the car and/or driving experience is rice eg anything that takes time and effort an does nothing but make the car "look" different (does not include restoring of stock appearance)

Man u guys have no sense of humour!

But seriously........since this is such a serious thread,

A true riceboy i think has all the looks of a fast and stylish car but no go in it at all..

Stickers and neons are "ricey" but not too bad i guess...

The stickers on the side of yr car are originally telling people that u have such brands uder the hood or interior! Putting them on because they are stickers is VERY RICEY! And i dont want to advertise my car to theives that it may not be standard.

Boost gauge in an NA car. Ricey

5 inch tip with 2inch system is ricey!

Anyone who does up an excel or a MR Lancer Must eat rice 3 times a day

:(

An ostrich is like an emu dude. Never seen Hey Hey it's saturday ?

I DO so have a sense of humour, anyone that's seen dude where's my car would know what Im talking about when I say "dude, ostrich" .. "no dude, Llama!" heheh

Riceboy ?

I installed an RSM (it does nothing for the car) Im gettin tint, plates. etc. all do nothing for performance..

the term is used WAY too loosely, or maybe im just a ricer at heart :(

Need i say more eh Gradenko?

Yeh those stickers really suck. It used to be a badge of honor in the early days but then all the ricers started goin at it so whats the point anymore? It the same IMHO as writing 'my car is fast' on the side door and driving a stock excel, what tools.

I think macka meant Lancer GLi. :) In the early models, the MR was the only 2 door to get the "big" (1.8) engine. Besides, that car wasn't riced - no evo kits or big ass wings there.

What is a lemma... I just stepped out of a Theoretical CS exam yesterday, hence I have theorems, corollaries and lemmas coming out of my ears.

    • It still combines inches with mm, especially when you have .5 inches involved, and mm and inches that can go in either direction. This would give a clear idea on both sides of the rim, right away, with no arithmetic. Even better if somebody gives you the dimensions of the arch of multiple cars. i.e GTR may be 125mm, a A80 Supra may be 117mm, or something along those lines. Yes, you can 'know' that going from a 10in rim to a 10.5in rim with the same offset moves both sides about 6mm, but you still have to 'know' that and do the math. Often it's combined. People are going from 9.5 +27 to 10.5 +15. You may do the math to know it, but if it was going from (I had to go look it up to be sure) 241mm/2 - 27 - 93.5mm from the center line to (more math) 266/2 - 15 (118mm) from the center line. Versus 93mm vs 118mm. It's right there. If you know you have a GTT with 100mm guards you can see right away that one is close to flush and the other absolutely won't work. And when someone says "Oh the GTR is 120mm" suddenly you see that the 10.5 +15 is about perfect. (or you go and buy rims with approximately 118mm outward guard space) I think it's safe to say that given one of the most common questions in all modified cars is "How do offsets work" and "How do I know if wheels will fit on my car" that this would be much simpler... Of course, nothing will really change and nobody is going to remanufacture wheels and ditch inches and offset based on this conversation :p We'll all go "18x9+30 will line up pretty close to the guards for a R34 GTT (84mm)" but 'pretty close' is still not really defined (it is now!) and if you really care you still have go measure. Yes it depends on camber and height and dynamic movement, but so do all wheels no matter what you measure it for.
    • But offsets are simple numbers. 8" wheel? Call it 200mm, near enough. +35 offset? OK, so that means the hub face is that far out from the wheel centreline. Which is 2s of mental arithmetic to get to 65mm to outer edge and 135mm to inner. It's hardly any more effort for any other wheel width or offset. As I said, I just close my eyes and can see a picture of the wheel when given the width and offset. That wouldn't help me trust that a marginal fitment would actually go in and clear everything, any more than the supposedly simple numbers you're talking about. I dunno. Maybe I just automatically do numbers.
    • Sure! But you at least have simple numbers instead of 8.5 inches +/mm, relative to your current rims you do maths with as well, and/or compare with OEM diameter, which you also need to know/research/confirm..
    • Uniclutch install vid, RB Track edition.   Highlight reel is very drive able, not noisy but still heavy with the clutch master he has.
