boostzor, dunno if you were referring to me but I'm not sure which part you were referring to about the cops

I only said they'd care if ur acting differently and dangerously, that's how you get the bad rep :)

also, the engineers aren't necessarily up-to-date with what people want

since you get wikid kits for most cars (but bodykit I wouldn't class as rice, unless u drive a slow car, like a blue excel that comes into work sometimes, with WRC kit :P and stick on bonnet vent with a hundred other things done to it which only give the impression of speed - even the guys embarrassed driving it hahaha) :D

Abuse can be dished out tactfully or in the bogan shouting-out-a-window style. Neither will have you end up in court fighting a verbal abuse case, if you use your head.

BTW, abuse is the passive method of dealing with this problem. The active method involes all manner of things I'd rather not mention in a public forum.

See this is why i closed the last thread:bigger:

Yeh Psiko i was refering to how u said the cops dont give a dam about rice only how u behave. Calling Cam an assclown is not abuse Cam knows that he dont mean much of it and i cant exactly see him takin up a lawsuit for it  Gradenko calls me an assclown all the time and i dont take offense to it :P he is a bitter young fella after all maybe i should report him to asio:p

Gradenko: I told u this would start a bunfight.'

Guys remember that ppl are entitled to opinions so dont start abusing each other. After all we are all friends here:grouphug: :D (even though ive been givin the most abuse:rolleyes: )

jules is all your hostility built up because the S31 image was ruined by clowns in their non turbos and other rice machines?

surely you can understand what were trying to achieve here. the skyline is a classy car. it is not a basis for a riceeater's latest 'creation'.

all we ask is that they leave the skylines alone. stick with what they know best, hyundais and lancers.

nah I'm not being hostile, I just don't see any point in abusing people for how they dress their car

if they're being cheeky (wasn't allowed ****y :D), give them a run and be content with beating them :)

yes I don't like all the n/a's around, and yes I don't like it how s13 numbers have multiplied by more than 1000000 times since I bought mine, thinking it was one of the rare

thankfully there aren't too many rice s13s around

I don't feel that the s13 image has been tarnished though, as long as it's turbo people still respect them...well sorta ... I hope...maybe?

I'm not typing in an angry mood, just expressing my opinion

if cam_r33 knows gradenko and knows that he was joking at the time of gradenko writing that, then I'm sorry

*hugs everyone* :P

abuse, as in telling r33 cam he's an ass clown, is verbal harassment and is a form of an active action

This is what's going to happen if a riceboy takes me to court because I called them an assclown:

Judge: Is it true you called the defendent an assclown?

Me: Yes, yes it is.

Judge: Do you have anything to say for yourself?

Me: Yes your honour. View exhibit one, a picture of the defendents car.

[Judge views a picture of a stickered, winged, fiberglassed, neoned 'line]

Judge: You're right, case dissmissed.

S13s are the reason I started my crusade. I have it on good infomation that the Yahoo S13 mailing list has gone to buggery, with such classic rice posts as "Which blue bulbs are best for my headlights?". I'll be damned if i let SAU turn to such disrepair.

For the record, (this if for you adam32 :P ), I layed down my first bit of anti'line abuse down today. Spotted a R32 GTS-t with GTR bits and a GTR badge outside Clancys Canning Hwy. Had me going for a bit, but the lack of centre console dials and no flared guards confirmed it. Ricer!

winged?? fiberglassed??, all i have is a GTR wing (with blank inserts) and genuine 400R sideskirts, i thought they were deemed not to be rice earlier in the thread, arrrr im not winning here :P

well i wouldn't take it to heart put it that way, :D but are you sure he didnt mean it???? seems pretty full-on with all the anti-rice situation??:)

Not directed at you. OK, I'm going to have to say "Not directed at R33_Cam", everytime I mention neons from here on in :D.

PSIKO, don't know why you deleted your post, but nope, I don't drive a two tone green 'line with xspeed sticker. Sounds like a familiar car though. Not initialD's?

Yeh hes the Gunmetal, looks almost the same as Joes used to before he got his wheels. Stock as a rock apart from him painting the little S on the grill red which i told him was rice but he wouldnt listen.

Spaeking of rice check this out http://maddox.xmission.com/hatemail.cgi#CAR

*scratches head* sorry but did u mean to post something or somewhere else?

oh and i found the epitome of rice:lol: epitome.jpg

I think steve's referring to the utter bunfight this thread is creating...

rice this, rice that.....it's all in good humour to myself, as I was, and probably still am what most of you call a Riceboy.. i like neon's, BOVs... so sue me!

On with the debate... this is interesting..

oh, and for the record, i agree 100% with what adam32 said, it's the stereotype's ASSOCIATED with seeing a lot of skyline's with stickers...

take the Hyundai's and Lancer's for example. and CIVICs.... you know I actually stop and admire a stock-as-a-rock Civic... (ooh, look, it's so good looking in stock form)

Try and spot a Lancer WITHOUT "SSV" stickers, larger rear wings, allow wheels, some lowering job, or worse.... THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME BODY KIT!!! BAH!

hahaha,

My name and/or car brand in Old English type with big letters on the windshield or back window. This is important in case someone forgets what brand of car I'm driving, or in case they see me in my sweet ride and they think to themselves "hey who's that cool guy in that sweet ride?"

Gold trim so people don't mistake me for being anything but a high roller.

Flame stickers on the side of my car because I'm still stuck in that whole "Hot Wheel" phase.

that is what we are argueing though, the sterotypes. as far as im concerned rieboys can do whatever the **** they like, as long as it doesnt involve a skyline.

for this simple fact dinesh, i and others are trying to keep riceboys out of skylines, and ultimately maintain the classy, performance oriented image which SHOULD surround a skyline.

PSIKO / CAM

EVERYONE STOP........... if your going to do anything to YOUR Skyline/ car from now on you better check with Grandenko to see if its all right.....

I mean I have seen cars with huge NISMO sticker, HSV on stockie commodores., etc.. and laughed my arse off.... BUT who am i to tell them they cant do that...

    • I have seen a case where the starter motor shorting against the casing caused a massive voltage drop + so much EMI that it caused all the sensors to spew garbage data at the ECU. Test the battery to make sure it has acceptable CCA/capacity first, I have gotten "brand new" batteries before that couldn't even power a 10W light bulb without dying probably because it sat in a warehouse too long without being charged. Only easy way to diagnose this 100% is put an oscilloscope on the battery and also look at key sensors to see if there's any clues.
    • There's a bunch of smaller shops that don't quite attract Singer money but are still hiring from that same pool of labor. Those are the body shops that you go to when you can't afford a Singer, but your old Porsche needs some serious bodywork. You can't exactly take those cars to the usual insurance body shops. When I say restomod, I mean they'll do something other than 100% OEM/OEM-equivalent aftermarket parts R&R. In the Porsche world this would be stuff like taking a 50k 964, doing a bunch of deferred maintenance/unwinding the nightmares the previous owners did to the car because a lot of people that own these cars tended to be penny wise, pound foolish types, then maybe some relatively simple off the shelf modifications to things like suspension, transmission, engine, headlights, etc. and you've spent 130k USD. When even the worst houses in the poor neighborhoods are worth 1M USD and the nice houses in wealthy neighborhoods are worth 3-10M USD suddenly 130k spent on a 50k car seems cheap.
    • Hoping to get a few ideas to help troubleshoot this issue, I'll try to keep it short.  A mate popped the motor in his 2018 LDV T60 with the 2.8 turbo diesel motor. He swapped it and I was his phone a friend when he got stuck.  The new motor is in, however it won't fire. The battery is literally brand new, when you crank it the volts very quickly (say 2 seconds of cranking) drop to 8 volts and the engine stops turning over. Watching the belts, I'd say they move about 5cm before coming to a stop. We put a booster pack on, no change.  The only potential issue I'm aware of is, when we pulled the motor the grounding strap was still attached. The strap copped a thrashing before we realised what was going on. It looks okay-ish but it's going to be replaced to rule it out.  The main challenge is, I wasn't there for 90% of the work. This is his first time doing any major work on a car and he was learning as he was going. He thinks everything has been put back together properly, however I'm not entirely confident that this is the case.  It would be good to get some ideas about what else to check. The car isn't spitting any codes so that doesn't help.  I've attached a photo, because why not lol.
    • I mean an N1 came with a minimal paint thickness compared to dealer models. It’s probably had a ton of vinyls and stuff possible a race paintjob or two over the years. you don’t buy an N1 for its stunning good looks or comfort 🤣 you buy it to send it and measure how much air you can get on the hill at Bathurst
    • Yeah, but "restomod" implies Singer and things like it, which implies drug money / trust fund maturity.
