Max Boost

hey all, kind of a newbie to skylines, on a s1 r33 gtst whatsthe max safeboost the turbo can handle (being ceramic turbine) currents mods are FMIC 3in Turbo back Apexi pod..

i've heard that the turbo is kinda maxing around 13psi any higher the turbine being ceramic will come off..

some work shop told me it's ok to run 14 or 15 psi

but with injectors, Power Fc and fuel pump

can the turbo really hack 14 or 15psi?

PowerFC, fuel pump, exhaust & FMIC.

On 11psi you should be seeing near 200rwkw. (~350hp at the flywheel)

There is no need to lean on them any harder. If you do their days are numbered.

As cubes said 10-12 pound max if you want reliability as your upmost importance.

above 10psi the turbo is doing a sweet amount of Fark All.

you'll get a slight power gain, but nothing like the 7-10psi gain.

leave it @ 10, PFC (as joel said) then you'll be rocking

You wouldn't want to go over 10 without a better FMIC thats for sure.

The factory ones are very small and get heat soaked rather easily and extra boost doesn't always result in more power.

great help, currently runnin 12 psi, but then drops down a the revs goes up. i'll bring the higher setting down to 10psi then

u need a electronic boost controller... get rid of that bleed valve...

Then it will stay on 10psi from 3000-7000rpm not a penny more or less....

This will give you a much better feel and it pulls harder through the revs....

Or you try a RB20DET actuator that tends to run around 11psi.

Some manage 12psi however I think they must have big loud free flowing exhausts.
