Hi all,

Quick question regarding the Power FC boost control kit...

I've just bought the kit that was previously on an sr20 which has a factory boost solenoid..

Now I want to install the kit onto an rb20. The Apexi Solenoid has a positive and negative wires which I need to run to the power fc, the only thing is I'm not sure where to...

I believe it goes to the plug next to the hand controller as there are 5 wire slots available and three go to the boost reader(Sensor)...

IE...

SOLENOID PRESSURE SENSOR

FREE FREE BLACK GREEN RED

Can someone tell me, who's using a power fc that didn't have a factory solenoid where the aftermarket solenoid goes to...

IE...

SOLENOID PRESSURE SENSOR

GROUND POSITIVE BLACK GREEN RED WIRES...

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me :P

Cheers

Dan

i think i am after the same info

but not sure

I currently have a PowerFC in my RB20... but using a Greddy boost controller.

I have a mate who has the boost solenoid from an AVCR which i hear is exactly the same as the one from the PowerFC Boost Control Kit, and i want to connect it up to my FC..

But it only has wires coming off the solenoid. with no plug. so i need to find out where the wires from the solenoid connect onto the PowerFC. like the exact pins..

Cheers :(

I have an SR20 so hopefully is similar. The 2 wires from the apexi solenoid need to be connected to the wiring for your FACTORY solenoid (as PFC uses the stock wiring loom to adjust it, the factory solenoid is then redundant).

The apexi pressure sensor then plugs directly into the PFC unit (next to the HC plug).

There are 2 "versions" of PFC, each uses different boost kit (the wiring from the sensor is different), older version has 3 pins/wires, newer version 5 pins/wires.

Hope that helps.

The RB20 Power FC wasn't really designed for use with the Boost Control Kit, but you can use it. The RB20 (R32 GTST) PFC is basically the same as the R32 GTR PFC, but AP Enginnering modified it to work on the RB20. That is why it still has inlet temperature correction (like an R32 GTR) even though RB20 's don't have an inlet temp sensor.

Enough history, how do you connect it....

RB20's have a standard map sensor, so you don't have to connect up the one that comes with the Boost Control Kit.

If you look at the pin outs on the standard R32 GTR ECU, you can see the wires for the standard boost control solenoid. The pin out is basically the same on the R32 GTST, there is just no wires for the boost control solenoid becuase R32 GTST's don't have them. That is where the Boost Control Kit is wired into the Power FC.

Hope that is of some help.

Thanks heaps for the replys :P

The sr20 boost kit has a plug for 5wires that fits into the FC, ie next to where the hand controller fits, however the FC for the Rb requires a plug for 3 wires... So thats definetly where the Map sensor would be wired to...

As for the solenoid, thanks heaps sydneykid :(

  • 1 month later...

I have all the pinouts and wiring diagrams for the RB20DET, but having trouble finding a pinout diagram for the RB26DETT. Anyone able to help me with a site or a copy.

Also have an air temp sensor here that im hooking up to the PFc, so need to know which pins are for the boost control solenoid and air temp sensor?

Thanks ppl:thumbsup:
