Errr, I've been thinking about ways of wiring up some neons for the under carriage. The most simple way is to hook up a fused lead from ya ciggie outlet in ya fuse box (this way, u can still use ya ciggie lighter), run that to some mirco switches (pick up from Tandy) in parallel, you can have one switch per light or one switch for all the lights, it all depends on how fancy u want it. just make sure they are all earthed properly otherwise you'll end up with a smoke show and not a light show.

One thing, by using the ciggie lighter outlet, you will not be able to have the neons on when the car is not on (reds) but if you take a fused lead from the battery, you can have the neons on independent of the car being on or not.

In QLD... neons inside or outside the car will cost you a $150 fine and one point...

I think the cops call the fine "being a wanker"....

Nah seriouslly, people with neons up here get laughed at.... Mainlly because there only found on excel's......

I did have 4x6 inch neons in one of my cars. In the front up under the dash and 2 under the front seats... To light up the foot wells...

All you need to do is run a parralell circuit off switches or off a door circuit as i did...

Remember its non-legal ligting and will cost you a fine if you are seen with them on...

iv heard that down here in Vic, you can have any interior neons u want. but exterior u can have as long as their not red, something to do with ppl confusing them with break lights or traffic lights... that or some1's pulling my leg :P

neons in vic are legal aslong as not Any of emergency colours, white, or traffic light colours, neons either must be on or off, not flashing/ dazzling

so that means, no red, blue, green, amber, red, white neons........mmmmmmk :P only purple, pink, gold, bright yellow, Deep green etc.

flashing is illegal in all states as it can immitate emergency vechiles. Leds, i dont specifically know, i'd say they are legal as long as they are on the ONE colour. Chacing is also illegal due to it being "dazzling" its the ON / OFF as far as i know VIC is the most leaniant state on neons...which is surprizing

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.

    • Welcome Gabriel. At least your car has a glorious RB and not the shitty CA18. As MBS206 mentioned all the good bits can be added later. Two doors or four?
    • And half of them have been converted to turbos.
