50km/hr is a hard one even due to accuracies of speedos too.. my speed is out about 10km/hr most of the time, and I just have to guess. But spend $100's getting it fixed and calibrated? just to prove some arbitary limit that somebody has said that makes something safe?

Most of you will probably find out your speedos are within about 10%.. which makes the line between 55 and 50 so tiny, even when you are obeying it properly.

nice rant cyrus!!!!

The problem is guys it is all about money (as we all know) if it wasn't there would be a s*&t load more red light cameras and RBT's. It is easier and cheaper to set up a nice little van on the side of the road and leave it rather then set up a RBT near pubs. better yet if they honestly wanted to save lives why not have a cop wait outside the pub before people get in their cars and offer a RBT with no risk of fine (as long as if they are over the limit they don't get in their car). But no that would lose to much money.

Here is an observation for you, last year I was pulled over twice for an RBT (no issue with that as I totally agree with RBT),but that was only twice out of 365 days of driving and yet I saw at least one speed camera a week, now the unfortunate thing is I don't know one person that has a serious speed related accident but I have lost a couple of friends due to drink drivers. I would love to know the real stats on fatalaties but as far as my personal experience DD is a lot worse then speeding so why not put more money there.

    • More mistakes! Welp. I drove into the back of a Territory's tow ball at a roundabout. Then I scraped my own gate driving back home. I am not a very good driver At least the aircon is degassed now, in prep for the engine to come out. What horrors will unfold next?
    • My understanding is that UV tends to accelerate the aging process. If the car has been garaged, then you could probably get away with extending beyond 10 years. FWIW, in 2015, I had tyres on my 180B SSS that had a 3-digit code (2 for week, 1 for decade), ending in 0, so could have been more than 30 years old, but still worked fine. I did replaced them very quickly, though, once I discovered what the code meant!
    • But we haven't even gotten to the point of talking about stateless controllers or any of the good stuff yet!
    • You guys need to take this discussion to another thread if you want to continue it, most of the last 2 pages has nothing to do with OP's questions and situation
    • And this, is just ONE major issue for closed loop control, particularly using PID. One such issue that is created right here, is integrator wind up. But you know GTSBoy, "it's just a simple PID controller"...
