OK... I have a bit of a problem, that I need to have fixed ASAP.

[/size]

I am currently having my car resprayed midnight purple. My painter has purchased the paint, but it has not come with a formula... He rang DuPont, but they don't have it either. I now need to find the formula for this paint ASAP. I would like to make 100% sure that I get the right formula.

Dupont said that the only way they can come uo with the formula is if they can see a body part with the paint on it, so if someone has this colour on their R33 GTR, could they please PM me if they are willing to help out.

Does anybody know where I can get this formula from?

Paul, I walked into my local panel shop and he looked up the paint codes for all 3 MP colours. He had both the R33 MP #LP2 and the R34 MP II #LV4 on his computer, but he couldn't find the MP III #LX0 (very hard to get, apparently). Any local paint shop should be able to help. If not, I can get it for you.

OR, you might want to look at this thread as Rezz translated that colour mixing pdf for the R34 MP II (#LV4) in this thread:

:)

PS, thanks for that link, as I also found the mix code for the MP III!!! I have been searching for that for quite a while.

Dupont said that the only way they can come uo with the formula is if they can see a body part with the paint on it

Or they could just call their office in Japan...? I translated a DuPont colour recipe for LV4! Wow, the Aussie branches of some companies never cease to amaze me.

And I have found the recipe for MP III, Rezz :) Schweeet.

Wanna translate that for me, too? :)

I agree, surely Dupont Australia could get it from Dupont Japan? Also, this paint is nothing new, it's 5-6 years old, so surely someone other than Dupont has the mix.

bah, it's only paint. :D Any good painter can do it and most paint suppliers that know what they are doing can mix it, especially with the mix recipe given to them :). But there are also other companies that can mix it for you. I am going to see QSR soon about it. My cousin is painting his Forrestor in a new Candy Purple this week. I will have a sample mix soon enough. :)

What colour are you using now?

Can I ask how much it is costing and who is doing the painting? PM if you want.

The latest and greatest candy pearls shouldn't cost more than $2000 for paint to do a whole car inside out.
