Hey guys just heard back today that the reason i have lost boost is because my front turbo has seized up. I bought the car thru prestige. Now i got the choice to rebuild both thru Keir Wilson with steel wheels for the price of around 3000 or i can put in a 2nd hand front turbo. Ive been told the 2nd hand stock one will cost around 600 but theres no guarantee on the condition. Any tips? If anyone knows any reliable places to get 2nd hand turbo's with sum sort of idea on the condition can you please let me know.

Regards,

Deren

for that price you could get yourself some r34 n1 turbos. have a look around at different aftermarket turbos. if you dont have the money, just get some 2nd hand standards and get them checked out.

give Tony a call at just jap he was the cheapest to rebuild standard turbos, i must have rang about 20 diffarent places. when he quoted me he fully rebuilt the standard items with ball bearing core's and steel exhaust wheels each turbo rated at 290-300hp. all of that for $3000.

I would if i had the cash but for now ive just stayed witht he stock turbo's till i later upgrade to something more special. Just dont have the cash..

Actually turned out that the front turbo exhaust wheel snapped off as always, but seeing i was driving it still for awhile it pretty much turned into dust..Still contrary to another post i was ready where two guys were argueing about the dust going back thru the engine this didnt happen on mine. Apparently i either would have had a big backfire to cause it or over boosting. The car has no mods at all, apart from a little thing wired into the ecu. Looks kinda like a loom connector but has no connection for anything to be plugged into it. Could it be a boost limit cut or something? I first thought it mite have been a speed limit cut but i dont think i ever got the chance to get over 180 before this happened.
