Hi All

As some of u know i sold my 33 skyline and got a tt 6spd supra, but now its back to R33 GTR time! anyways i would like to say something regarding todays skylines around the gold coast, i dont wanna offend any1 owners of gtsts with gtr badges i just like to say whats on my mind...

Theres many gtst's around but very few gtr's in r33 series, theres nothing wrong with that im glad people relize what great cars they are,

but what started to really bother me recently is gtst's with GTR badges, almost every gtst i c has a gtr badge and some of these drivers will tell those who dont know the diffrence that they have a GTR, or the most recent joke i heard was adding a twin turbo set up on a gtst with a r25 and calling it a gtr, i understand the passion for skylines and a GTR but why go to the extend and saying your gtst is a gtr?

I personaly know of 5 real r33 gtr's around gold coast, and thats all i seen in months, im sure theres more, but ive also seen close to 90% of every gtst with a gtr badge, i dont understand it, is it some new fashion statment? soon gtr owners will have to have stickers on the cars saying " THIS IS A REAL GTR NOT JUST A BADGE " for those who dont know how to quickly tell a gtr appart at first glance then heres a short list:

difrent body kit

wider gurds

smaller side indicators

wider front bar

all whels are same size

the all time favourite is the smaller side indicators, thats the fastest way to tell the car appart, if they are large and squared then its a gtst! no point of me including the specs and interior diference as most of u know then anyway.

From this i just wanna know why todays owners add gtr badges on gtst's, and even try to claim its a real GTR?

WHY?

cos they are wanna be posers!!

I own a S1 r33 GTST and I would not even consider putting GTR badges on it - how embarrasing!!

I will only wear GTR badges if I own a GTR!! (I do have a couple of GTR Tshirts but- thats as close as I'll go...lol)

thats stupid i see them all the time on the GC

they even try to tell me they have a GTR i laugh my ass offfffff

and point out the differences poofs

if anyone is missing a GTR badge then you know the GC is where its gone to

Each to their own...I agree its pretty gay but the reality is...these people have NFI and those who believe it has even less of an idea...

Most of us can tell the difference, even my 12y/o cousin can tell the difference. Instead of posting here, go and ask the people why they do it...

lol...I got my GTS-T into a GTR full Body, plus aftermarket brake system set up......so b4 I up grade the brake ppl still can notice my car isnt GTR but after the new brake system, ppl seem to think it is more like a GTR......

But how many ppl around brisbane is crazy like me to spend some much money to do these things???

One of the guys i work with saw my car and started telling me about his old skyline i asked what it was he hesitated and said gtst.. but it went as hard as a GTR etc... etc... he said it had the full GTR kit and that on.. and the badges... grrrr then his mate standing next to him goes 'you told me it was a GTR' he replied 'yeah well it went as hard as a GTR'

I've gone as far as putting notes on gtst's i see parked with GTR badges on saying 'NOT A ****ING GTR'

I think the Gold Coast is the worst place for the old GTR badged GTST trick. There are literally more GTSTs with GTR badges than there isn't. Sad really, they are both great cars in there own right, no need to pretend they are something they are not. And you are correct, they are easily picked. lol ferni, might start leaving some notes of my own!

yeah leaving notes doesn't do any damage (except to maybe thier ego), i would never damage anyones car/property no matter how riced up it is... but a friendly reminder that it is NOT a GTR and everyone knows it, puts them in thier place.

thanks all for the replies, i just wanted to know what you all thought regarding this issue, i like the idea of leaving notes behind on fake gtr's - good idea fernie, i normaly just tell them "nice badge" but ill start doing it in writting as well, ill need plenty of paper as theres so many of them around!
