Well funky brings me to my next thought.  If you say take your badges off your GTR, what happens then?  Does it become a GTSt4 or something crazy???

IM REALLY CONFUSSUSED!

um, you have a GTR with a wierd patch in your clear coat? is this a trick question?

I've got hi-res pics, but I cbf hostin it and linking it lol. oh and if numberplates need to be edited out, please do so.

you guys need to get over yourselves and the whole GTR craze.

just because someone wants to put a GTR badge on their car (or leave it on since they bought it that way) is up to them and not upto you.

Basically the way I see it is blatent dissrespect which to me isnt acceptable to anyones ride no matter what they have chosen to do with it, its up to THEM, not YOU.

Im sure theres plenty of shit on your cars other people wouldnt like, yet they keep it to themselves, why dont some of you try practicing the same.

what about people that put stickers on their car like Gready apexi trust HKS etc even though they dont have any on those brand named parts in their car ????

Well as the saying goes thats a shopping list. When you get these items you tick them off, or cross them off, just like a shopping list! So when you see a car with a big list, you know its slow, unless all the items are crossed off

But how about this one! GTSt4 with full gtr running gear, and say they had a bingle, and replaced the guards with GTR ones... and they put badges on it? Then its really a GTR, just with a different plate on it isnt it? Hell lets go all out and say they put in all the interior too! 99% of people wouldnt know the difference, so is that stupid?

Here is one to get us started

This car is from the sunshine coast the plates stand for (SIZZLA) and it doesnt have a gtr engine but it has run a 13 or 14 quarter. its only a gtst. still no need for the gtr badge!

I just don't quite understand it.. it's not adding to the car, it's not impressing anybody that I've ever met.. and often they are nice cars in their own right.. but I don't quite see why.. they even cost money to buy.

Agree, Can not stand people that put GTR badges on their GTST's. OK it’s as fast as a GTR, but their is no need for the badge. Every time I see that, which has been more then I’d like. I just think you’re a lllooossseeerrrr.

I would rather have a scratch on my front bar then put a GTR badge over it. Be proud of the GTST you have it a sick care. Yeah the GTR is the ultimate car to have but unless it was budged a GTR from factory I’m SORRY IT AINT.

That’s my 2 cents.

Has anyone on this forum got a GTR that is still original as it rolled off the factory floor in japan? Is a GTR still a GTR if it has aftermarket wheels, tyres, exhaust, computer, boost controller, turbos, manifolds, suspension, gauges, sound system, pistons, cams, valves, valve springs, clutchs, seats etc. etc.?

you guys need to get over yourselves and the whole GTR craze.

and there is always one who misses the point :)

It has got nothing to do with the visual appeal of someones car or lack thereof, it is about people lieing about what their car is.

Yes it is up to them what goes on their car and I am sure there are people that think my car looks like a POS, but you know what? I am not going around claiming that my car is something that it's not.

There are even threads in this very forum about people trying to sell GTST's as GTR's with a price point to match. And if this thread does nothing more than make people aware that there are con artists out there, who claim things are what they are not and to take care when looking at purchasing a skyline, then that is a good thing!

Umm, I stuck a GTR badge on my Computer Monitor at work so that I felt closer to my car (it is currently 1600kms away) is that Shameful, if so, I will take a pic and post it up!!!

:)

That just shows the down right dedecation and love that you have for your car.

No shame in that at all.

Thats just like putting a photo of your family or kids on your desk, your just a proud man and theres nothing wrong with that. :)

picture anyway.

say you have a dead RB26 engine....and you can't affod to buy another engine and your mate were like donating an RB25 to fit into your GTR..and you agreed to do so.

what would you call that one ? still a GTR ?

The answer to that one is YES!

It would be a SHAMER to call it Godzilla though.

The facts are.

1. A GTR is a GTR. You can never change that.

2. A GTST may go as quick with some mods but no matter what you do is still a GTST.

If you have a quick GTST, don't be ashamed, you have a beautiful vehicle. Be happy with what you have.

If you have a slow GTR, don't be ashamed, you have a beautiful vehicle. Be happy with what you have.

Don't pretend to own what you want.

The SPIRIT of the GTR is in the car. You could take a normal GTR and change all the guards, change the engine, mags, bodykit, lights and interior and it is still a GTR coz it still has the spirit of a GTR.

Can anyone wear your clothes, hat, shoes and claim to be you. NO!

I would rather have a GTR killing GTST and say that it is a GTST then have a GTR badge and a hell of a lot higher expectation from spectators and racers.

When you slap that badge on, you raise the bar for your car and it suddenly goes from an awesome GTST to a moderate FAKE GTR that everyone and his dog knows is a fake.

LONG LIVE THE SPIRIT OF THE GTR!!!!

    • I did a bit of googling, the color MCM used was Galaxy Grey from House of Kolor. This is actually a colour I picked out about ~10+ years ago (or more). This one is a stock BMW colour, I guess over the years I figured it was smart to get an OEM colour that was pretty common for all of those sensible reasons one can think of..
    • I absolutely love having clean wheels and also totally love cleaning them. Its not as important to me to have a clean car exterior as it is to have clean wheels. So I bought a kit. I generally use different products for my wheels than anything else, so I thought I'd buy a proper kit and bucket to keep it all in. I got this one from Waxit. I also got the CQuartz wheel and plastic ceramic along with a bunch more application micro fibre pads as CQuartz never provide enough.  The kit was good, but as usual the big, long spongey thing didn't fit between my spokes, so I needed to use a detailing brush and a larger brush that I already owned (been doing this forever, the spokes on these wheels are frustrating.) I did a full clean with the wheel cleaner, it has an iron killing product in it, so I found that I could just use the cleaner and nothing else on the wheels. The tyre cleaner and handled brush were awesome. Made cleaning the tyres so easy. Once everything was clean, I decontaminated with isopropyl and applied the ceramic. Two coats. I bought 2 bottles as I have a lot of wheels to do, half of one bottle did two coats on these. The X5 has 20's so I reckon probably 3/4 on that. Then, for possibly the best part, the wheel cleaning kit comes with a tyre black applicator. But, this is possibly the greatest sponge of all time - its a great size, quite stiff and HAS A COVER! When you finish applying the black, you just put the cover back on! This is revolutionary, I normally have to try and find safe places to put my tyre black applicators as they are covered in silicone and tyre crap. Or, you use something which just falls apart. This applicator is the bee's knee's. Get one. It's worth it. The tyre black is also like a cream, its very thick but goes on really thin, its very easy to use with the applicator. Ayway, after a big clean, decontam, ceramic coat and tyre black the wheels went back on and they look awesome.   Thought I'd share.
    • Haha. Good work. I feel some of your pain because I spent a bunch of time under my car over the period too. Probably nowhere near as much as you did. My happiness is similarly improved by obtaining a desired result though. Those side skirts are.....hecking. Very unfriendly for street and hoist. Sounds to me like you've made a cart that needs to be driven up only planks/blocks at a 2 post hoist, rather than trying to get it up onto a 4 poster. It's very pretty, by the way. Somewhat reminiscent of Marty's squid ink on SuperGramps - at least in the photos.

    • ATTAKD 356mm Brake Kit for R34 GTT or R33 GTST. Same brake kit as per here from JJ: https://justjap.com/products/attkd-brake-kit-nissan-skyline-r34-99-02?currency=AUD Can confirm these will bolt directly to a R33 GTST with 12mm bolts OR to a R34 GTT (which is what I had) with the supplied bolts and the collets for the 14mm bolt holes in the R34, which are included. Also included is a set of rotors and hats, as well as 2x brake pad sets. 1) DBA XP (street, hills) 2) Forza FR6 (track) These are radial mounted and bolt directly to R33/R34. You will need extended brake lines to avoid them being full stretch on lock - this is common for all BBK's with the bolt point being in the center. In my case I welded another stud about 25mm lower than the OEM one and retained stock lines and fittings. You'll want a BM57 BMC to get the most out of these. I speak from experience. $1800 (neg for SAU people), located SE Suburbs Melbourne.
