YEAH BUOYO! I'm baaaack! Back in turbo-world again!

Recommended Posts

After 6 months booting myself around in a corolla I've finally booted it out via the trading post and got myself a 90 MR2 GT.

Only thing I've done to it was remove the flaming wing :burnout:

Hurrah! Hope to catch up with u guys soon.

UPDATE: New piccies taken of the 2:

goes damn hard in 1st and 2nd. Prolly why the standard car has those really low 0-100 times. But thats about it.

3rd, 4th, 5th...... brisk at best.

I got the CT26 turb.... so its bigger. It seems turbos got really small in factory cars in the mid 90s.... the rexies, mr2s and even the skylines got smaller, or more plastic-like turbos in the mid90s which is more responsive but cant be boosted up or are really high boost to begin with. :burnout:

Spiderman still has the R33... and my other friend still has my old turbo lude, so its like I never sold any of them I saw the prelude just yesterday (he's the guy that also took my wing off) and saw the line last week.

Your right about turbo cars in the mid 90's. That was a bid to try to get rid of turbo lag. 90's MR2 is the way to go.

But don't brake too suddenly in mid-corner cause some motoring journalsts found that it swaps ends very suddenly.

Yeah the last few days I experienced my first drive in it in the wet. I got to say you can call it skating on ice.

If I knew what I was doing this thing would be hella fun! Swing that ass around :P baby!

So when do the mods start :P  And it looks dam hot without that dam huge ass wing.

Mods? :eek1: No mods for me! I'm a factory stock kinda guy now :uh-huh:

If the turbo goes or stuff like that, then I'll probably go aftermarket but at the moment everything is running nice and its quite brisk in low revs which is what I want anyway.

Cheers!

Hey if my family moves away as they plan to and I don't need more seats anymore I'm in the market! I love MR2's always have, wanted one so bad but bought the R32 for the extra seats, sold the 32 wanted an MR2 and bought a 180 less seats but still more than two, sold the 180 wanted a MR2, but bought another 180...

hehe we were cruising down Military Rd last night (mate was driving) and this chick come up next to us and hangs out the window and goes "nice car mate!!!!! My favourite!!" Meanwhile my mates got this look on his face like, "YEH BABY :O this is my car!!" while I'm in the passanger seat going "ARGH!!!!! It's mine dammit!!!!!! MY credit!!! not urs!!!!" hehehe felt pretty good though that someone complimented my car. She wasn't too bad either!!!

I can't wait till mine is finished in Blue with white wheels and lowered to just that "perfect" height.......... *drool* ARGHHHH!! I need money!!!!!!!!!!

    • Personal experience. Those f**kers burn. And are actually a PITA to put out. Next time I walk down the back, I'll snap a photo of what the inside of the bonnet looks like when that thing ignites. PS, powder fire extinguishers are useless on that stuff too as it's fibrous and when it ignites, it starts to pull apart. And you end up just blowing powder through a sieve effectively.   Like the big thing is, if it's fire resistant, it's job is to stop what burning? The METAL above it? It's just to try keep heat off the bonnet paint work.
    • Oh man, sorry, $60.00000000... 😛
    • That's more or less what he meant. What it really means is that you do not have to go full crazy on the build. Don't need the best oil pump, expensive rods & pistons, big cams, etc. You can upgrade whatever you want instead of using stock level items, but you don't have to. Having said that - any time an RB is opened up, if anything is getting replaced, I think the opportunity should be taken to do all the sensible upgrades. Pistons, rods, pump, etc.
    • February update 🙂 We managed to get the very last 1/18th "Extra Scale" cars stock available from bookstores in Kyoto. These are actually the last ones and will not be restocked again! Hachette Collections Japan have not decided on a release date for these or other models in the series, so for the time being these are all there are available new.  These are showing up on Yahoo auctions at inflated prices already (especially the Celica and NSX) so get yours now at a very reasonable price before they disappear!
