4pts $250 - alleged 102 in a 70 zone - was doing like 95 tops..... meh, took 16months for me to drag it through court, and in turn saved my license :)

Was bulk stupid.... meh, I've learnt now.....

... having 1 point does that to you.... :D

Silly isn't it: nothing in the Skyline, have been pretty good for the most part. Lost 3 point & $150 for chasing a mate's V8 panelvan while driving my old Torana :headspin: . Cop was sympathetic & booked us for 88 in a 60 zone, reality was more like 110. He could also have canaried both of us on the spot, or done us for reckless driving for weaving in & out of traffic (there wasn't much, it was 1am), so I considered myself a lucky young idiot & was very sensible thereafter. Mostly :D .

In one week i got done for:

A) 4 pts on the narrows. about 40 kms over. Was lucky it wasnt 6pts.

B) 6 pts in a 60 zone. Was going WELL above double the speed limit. I was lucky on this one

C) 1 pt for 15kms or so over in a 70 zone.

Could have been alot worse, could have ended up in court and yellowed. $700 in fines in under a week. Thankfully that was almost 2 years ago and after loosing my license and i certainly learnt my lessons the hard way. Since then i've only been caught by one camera doing 10 kms over on G.E hwy!

Most important thing i've learnt is my attitude... I only have 1 person to blame for all the hassles 1 stupid week caused.

Another thread dedicated to driving offences commited by skyline owners, really bright!

I bet some of the people who have posted in this thread have complained about the poor image of skylines in the community, news and police department.

At least it shows the cops are doing their jobs. In the car I have now I admit I do speed (been 200kph on the way to work once, 3:30am, about 180kph twice, and a few more in that general area.....). I have never been caught, but I don't do that any more. Once when I was running late I was doing about 140kph (early morning on the Mitchell freeway, cars are rare!!!), and went past a van & a fairly new Falcon wagon. Down the road a bit I noticed headlights moving quite quickly in the right hand lane, and had a look & it was this wagon. We were coming up to a Monaro, so decided to just slow it down past him, just in case. After that I thought he would just sod off, but instead sped past again. Considering I was running late for work, it would have seemed like I was chasing him, but TBH I didn't give a crap about him. Pulled about level at 170, and when he gave it a bit more I thought enough was enough.

So then I just planted it, went past him, watched his lights go further & further back while I hit 200kph+ & that was that. Not bad for a magna. I feel sorry for a poor girl in a Corolla, we went either side of her at these speeds & probably scared the crap out of her. FYI I got to work 5mins early. Starting at 4, left at about 3:35 and it usually takes half an hour.

I don't do that shit anymore, starting at 6am most of the time there is no way I would even bother. Plain stupidity really.

ive been let off my worst traffic offence .... on a double demerit weekend .... i decided to tailgate & drag an unmarked cop car and do ridiculous speeds in a 60 zone ..... but i was let off with a warning .... could of been a 6 pt turned into a 12pt fine.

ive been let off for drink driving

ive been left off (but shouted at) for so called hooning

The worst thing ive actually been booked for is doing 84 in a 50zone .... which resulted in my recent loss of license.

Basically i shouldve lost my license about 4 times over by now but for some reason coppers love me and usually let me go with a slap on the wrist ;)

Owned a VF1000R once...... Over a period of 3 months I attempted to "break" the record for getting to work, from Maddington to O'Connor. I eventually broke into the 7 minute mark (average 180km/h). After several near-misses, a chase involving about 4 vehicles and an eventual canary on the bike after attempting to drag with an unmarked car, I finally had a change in attitude and purchased a 900cc Daihatsu Charade.

I drove the bread box for about 2 years and in that time I learned a lot, I mean - A lot. The car helped me to tone down on the roads, and it was just what the doctor ordered.

Since driving the Charade, then purchasing the R32 about 2 years ago (4 years total) I have never been issued with an infringement. I have been pulled over 5 times in the R32 and was canaried once, the other 4 times were for license checks and a warning from the cop that some prick was thieving imports in my area.

Like all the others before me who have admitted stupidity, I think that there does come a time when you finally click and realise what you are doing. Some people take a long time such as myself, but others inevitably learn the hard way, when it’s too late.

I was stupid, and lucky.

Everyone is young and dumb once ....skyline owner, commie owner, BMW owner, go-go mobile owner.

i was done back in september for "creating an excessive undue noise or some rubbish" aka doing a 'burn out'

location : pulling out of leach hwy maccas (derrr)

car : shitbox 93 rolla seca, with bald as all buggery tyres

road was wet, so i ahve no idea where the sound was coming from.

since buying the skyline i drive even more like a nanna.

3 dem points 100 fine.

    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
    • looking forward to your t56 swap man its a game changer if it works!
    • So, when are you trying the new GR86 or BRZ?
    • Uncle Duncan Yeap, FI Interchiller  Works well, normal IAT's cruising with the WTA only went from 50°c+ to 25-30°c with the interchiller  Before, when on it hard, the IAT would see 80-90°c, now, the highest has been was around 38°c IIRC IAT is measured under the blower hat I recommend it for the street or strip where your only on it hard for 10 or so seconds, but it wouldn't be efficient for sustained track use as it would heat soak from the AC turning off or whatever it does during WOT to protect the compressor It really needs the AC running for it to not heat soak and keep the WTA coolant chilled My WTA coolant temps when just cruising is around 2°c
    • Hey Mark...sorry to interrupt your career change to hair dressing... but...did you ever fit the interchiller to the commodore, and if so how was it? And, who made it?
